I almost didn’t check in today. I’ve been so busy with my full time job, and I’m just exhausted. I just finished doing some work (I can clock in and out from home and also access my work computer), and after church tonight, I’ll have more to do. So there won’t be much time for writing. I’m hoping this will only last a couple more weeks and I’ll be free to, you know, breathe. Anyway, there’s not much to report. I’m still waiting on the cover for the Libby Fox trilogy. That should be almost done. I’m interested to see if it will sell better or worse than the individual novellas, so this is kind of an experiment. I was going to do the trilogy together in print eventually anyway. I’m just not understanding why my back list still sells better than the newer Libby Fox books. There are vampires and werewolves….
I’m still in the editing process for the gnome story. This will be the first time I’ve ever written something that was not ready for publication at the end of an ROW80 round (except for this same story last year, LOL). I hope it’s not jinxed. I could probably get it edited and proofed in time, but I want to send it to my beta readers and get their opinions before I do anything. But, I can still work on something new for the next round while I’m waiting on betas, right? 🙂
Exercise is tanking because I’m just spending all my time doing other stuff. I really need to make myself a schedule so that exercise doesn’t fall behind. I think I exercised one day last week. Not acceptable!
How are the rest of you doing? Is anyone as busy as me and wishing they could write full time?
I’ve felt this way to before. I just left Gene Lempp’s Row post for today. If you have a minute go and read his 3 points at the beginning of his post. Great encouragement to a tired soul.
Ack! Why did your comment end up in my spam folder? I just now saw it!
I always try to read Gene’s posts. He is such an inspiration!
Ha! I hear you on the exercise. Doing it first thing in the morning seems to be the only way to guarantee getting it in for me 🙂
Hope the day job settles for you soon.
Thanks, Raelyn. I have a hard enough time getting myself up in the morning in time to get to work. I’m more of an evening exerciser.
About two more weeks, and maybe I can breathe.
Oh, Lauralynn… I think you are doing a wonderful job. Hope all goes well with the cover!
I, too, wish I could write full time and then just sprint out the door whenever to go to the gym or up to the trails to run..
You’ll see, girl… we’ll get there!
I think the ROW80 break will be good for you (and me). We can get in some exercising and keep up with it during the next round!
😀
Thanks, Darlene! I would love to write full time. I love my full time job (except this time of year), but I don’t love how it keeps me from writing as much as I want to. Wow, to be able to just GO somewhere if I need to…or want to.
I’m looking forward to the ROW80 break, but I’ll still be editing. I’m not going to start something new, though, until Round Two starts.
are you in accounting? Because I work for an accounting firm and it is nuts right now! So yeah, I can relate to not having too much time and working through lunches.
Actually, we make fertilizer. LOL. So when people are farming and gardening, it gets crazy. And we sell to retail stores, too. I’m the one that does the accounting, but also I take care of our internet sales (fertilizer, gloves, gardening tools, etc.), and I have to answer the phone for orders when my assistant isn’t there. My best friend who died last May worked for an accounting firm, so she and I were always both busy during the same season.
😦 I am sorry about your best friend…
Don’t get worried about a jinxed story…lol. I think some just take longer to stew about in our brains. I’m excited for the next round. I’ll be researching/outlining/creating character profiles/…and WRITING! After all this editing, I’m eager to write something fresh.
I saw you mentioned church. This is a busy season for Christians and Jews. We were just making our Passover plans – which will be a traditional seder with Jews For Jesus. They assign the dishes to make – so it’s an easy cooking night for me! Ha! Do you have a special dinner?
I’m just hoping it’s not jinxed. LOL. I’m ready for something new, too.
No, we don’t have special dinners. But, this week we are having a gospel meeting (same as a revival), so that’s going to be busy for me and will cut down on writing time. Church is important to me, though, so it’s a willing sacrifice. 🙂
I wish I could be as prolific as you are! Considering you have a crazy day job, too.. even more impressed. Hope to see you rocking it in Round 2. Can’t wait to hear more about your journey through betas, etc.
Thanks, Tia. It IS a challenge, especially when the day job is crazy. But if this is what I want to do, then I have to do it. That means I HAVE to write. See you in Round 2!
