Ha! I bet that title got your attention. What in the world do sweat and Supernatural have in common? Well, I’m about to tell you.
I always hook up my headphones to my iPad and watch Netflix while walking on my treadmill. I’ve had this show queued up on Netflix for a long time. My daughter-in-law likes it, and we usually have the same taste, so I thought I would give it a try. I’ve seen two episodes, and I am in love with it. It’s my kind of show!
So, the sweat part. It helps to watch Netflix while I’m on the treadmill because my mind always has to be doing something, and walking is kind of mindless. But I can’t help but feel the sweat, even when I’m concentrating on the show I’m watching. I HATE to sweat. And yet, I feel a sense of accomplishment when I do. That means I’m exerting myself enough, because I really don’t sweat that easily (except when I have hot flashes). Some more good news…my homemade deodorant is holding up through all the sweating. All it contains is coconut oil, arrowroot powder, and patchouli essential oil. It’s supposed to have baking soda, too, but it makes me break out, so I had to leave that off. But it’s still working. I smell like patchouli! 🙂
Speaking of homemade. I just dusted the furniture with homemade furniture spray. I’m washing clothes with homemade washing powder. Later, I’ll wash my hair with homemade shampoo and moisturize my face with homemade moisturizer. I’m loving this natural stuff!
Sounds good Lauralynn.
How does all of this homemade natural stuff work? Is it in the interest of cost cutting or simply to be more natural and to use less chemicals? I am always interested in saving money, and the homemade approach to things sounds fascinating.
How is your husband doing by the way? I feel bad that I have not asked for a while
Actually, it’s in the interest of cost cutting AND using fewer chemicals. Sometimes the initial investment seems a little high, but many of the things you buy go a long way. I’ve used my coconut oil in a bunch of different things and I still have a lot left. I’m buying essential oils a little at a time. Some of them are expensive, but you use only a few drops at a time. And I don’t buy the real expensive ones. Here is the website I use a lot for recipes. http://www.diynatural.com/
My husband is doing great. His ankle is still swelling sometimes (the broken ankle, they think, is what triggered the blood clots) and he has to wear a compression hose on his leg for about a year. But he went back to work and he’s doing well. Thanks for asking. 🙂
I don’t blame you for watching something while exercising. I’ve done the same thing. Sometimes if I go for a walk, I’ll even listen to my Kindle. It’s tacky to see, but I have a cord I attach to it and hang it over my neck. It’s a good way to proofread my books when they’re in the final stage of editing.
Nice to hear the natural stuff is working!
Hey, when you’re exercising, who cares if it looks tacky. LOL. Walking is good exercise.
I’m loving the natural stuff. I can’t wait to try the natural hairspray. That ought to be…interesting.
Supernatural is my favourite show of this year. It’s been around for years but I only got around to watching it properly from the very start and in order in the past few months. It’s funny, entertaining, intelligent, and has two beautiful men. What more do we need? 🙂
I wouldn’t know where to start on homemade products.
I just started watching it. I didn’t even realize what it was about until I saw the first episode. I can’t figure out which brother I like the best. Both are good-looking in different ways. Their personalities are totally different, but I like them both. It’s a great show!
I thought homemade products would take a lot of time, but most are really easy.
I love both Sam and Dean – I don’t want to choose between them. 🙂
Homemade deodorant?? Will you email me (or FB message me) the exact mixture?
And I am a HUGE Supernatural fan. Love me some Sam and Dean. This is a show my guy and I watch together. 🙂
I’m really loving Supernatural. The episode about Bloody Mary creeped me out big time.
I’l get that recipe to you.
