No, I didn’t fall off the wagon or anything. It’s just that I only got about 3 hours sleep last night…or should I say this morning. My husband had gone out to the car about 10 last night to warm up his car before he went to work. It’s really dark out there and he stepped in a hole, turning his ankle. He heard a sickening pop. Bless his heart, he CRAWLED back to the front door. He has a chipped bone in his ankle, and he’ll be out of work at least a week. He’s on crutches now. I don’t know how we’ll pay our bills this month. π¦ We’re living from paycheck to paycheck the way it is, and now we’ll be even farther behind. But the good news is he isn’t hurt as badly as he could have been, and that’s what’s important.
I keep wondering if I’ll fall asleep at my desk and someone will hear me snoring….
But here’s the good news.
Stats for this week:
Beginning weight: 193
Todayβs weight: 176
This weekβs loss: 2 lbs.
Total loss: 17 lbs.
Soon I’ll weigh less than my husband. π
Sorry to hear about your husband’s injury. π¦
I hope you can get through the month okay.
On the bright side, your weight loss is fantastic.
Yeah, the weight loss is keeping me positive. But let’s just say, I’m going to be doing a lot of praying to get through the month without being late on all our bills. I have to have faith that we’ll be taken care of. π
Eek, sorry to hear about your hubby’s ankle. That’s terrible.
On the money thing: remember your faith. Something will come through and it will work out; God will provide. Trying times are a good reason to take stock of all we have. This week, you get a couch potato husband and plenty of time together. π
Have you watched the show Lost Girl? A buddy told me I HAD TO WATCH IT. I almost stayed up way too late last night to fit in another episode. The first episode is titled “It’s a Fae, Fae, Fae, Fae World.” Fun excuse to tune out on your worries, lady. π
My couch potato husband is going to go nuts after a couple of days being idle. LOL. I guess I’m going to have to wait on him a little bit. He actually fell again trying to get up our steps on his crutches. Of course the shot of Percocet they gave him probably contributed to that. LOL.
Yes, I have to trust that God will provide. He always has.
I haven’t watched Lost Girl. It’s about a succubus, right? Is it really that good?
Ouch π¦ I hope your husband recovers quicker than expected and this month ends on a better note than it started. Congrats on your weight loss! Keep up the good work and remember to take care of yourself while things are so crazy at work and you are taking on extra at home while hubby recovers.
I hope he recovers fast, too. I don’t like to see him in pain. Most men are kind of babies about that. And we can’t afford for him to be out of work. But I don’t want him to go back too early because he needs to heal.
You don’t realize how MUCH extra I’m taking on. Hubby does 80% of the housework. LOL
Glad your husband isn’t as injured as he could’ve been and congrats on the continued weight loss. I’m sure this month will end better than it started.
Thanks, Andrew. Last year was really a bad year for me, so I’m hoping this year will be better. Hopefully, hubby’s injury is just a small hiccup for the year.
Sorry to hear about his ankle. Maybe you could get him to try to write that story of his while he’s home for the week? π
Your husband does 80% of the housework! You’ve got a real keeper there.
LOL, I wish he could write that story. I just don’t think he’s interested in writing. I don’t know if he has the talent. He certainly can come up with good ideas. And, thankfully, he’s not upset over me abandoning his story for now.
Yes, he works hard at work and at home. That’s the way he was raised. It’s killing him that he has to be as still as he is right now.
So sorry for your hubby. That sounds awful. I hope everything works out.
Congrats on the continued w/l success! And housework counts as exercise. π
He’s hobbling along on his crutches. He even tried to clean the kitchen a little bit this morning while propping himself up. I don’t know what to do with that man!
Housework may count as exercise, but it’s not as much fun. I can read while I walk on the treadmill. Although, I did take my phone and my headphones in the kitchen with me this morning and listened to an audio book while doing dishes. π
Sorry to hear about your hubby’s injury, and he sounds like me, not gonna let the injury hold him back. Better keep an eye on him or else he’ll be doing housework while you’re sleeping.
And congrats on your continued wt loss, almost 20 lbs!
It would be just like him to do the housework while on crutches. I hope not, because he might fall and break his neck.
Thanks, Chris!
I’m so sorry about your husband Lauralynn! You both are in my prayers.
Congratulations on your weight-loss!! Great job! You’re inspirational. Such great consistency! Think you might share a picture wearing your next pair of new jeans?? π
Thanks, Erika. We can always use prayers. π
I have mixed feelings about sharing pictures. I’m an author who writes under a pen name for personal reasons. However, it’s doubtful that anyone I’m trying to avoid will see my blog. LOL. Also, my weight has been a reason not to post a picture of myself. That situation is getting better. So maybe I WILL post a picture wearing my next size. That will be a size 12, and I will REALLY celebrate when I get there.
