Sometimes I just like to talk about various things. I’m diverse like that. π
Today was day two at the gym. I think I might have overdone it since my arms felt all weak and shaky. But my friend here at work, who has worked out most of his life, said that’s normal. I have a feeling, though, that I won’t be able to get out of bed easily in the morning.
Does ANYBODY know if there’s a way to subscribe to comments on Blogspot? When I comment, I would love to be able to see if the blogger answered me. I noticed there was a link to “subscribe to comment (atom)”, but when I click on that, it tries to make me save a file called “default” onto my computer. Um…no. I can’t believe there’s not a way to subscribe to comments! Am I missing something?
How do you all feel about abbreviations in Twitter and other social media? Someone followed me today, and I always check tweets before following back, and this person used “u” and “2”, etc. all the time. I know it’s a good way to allow more content with the character limit, but I just can’t READ that stuff. It makes my little reader/writer heart hurt. Am I just crazy? I don’t even do this when I text. Neither does my youngest son because he can’t stand it either. LOL Maybe it’s just a weird quirk with me, but I just don’t like it.
Okay, I’m done now. Have a nice weekend. π
Shaky arms? That’s a good pain! I went to a tai chi/yoga class yesterday, and I can still feel it with every step. They should just call it “Body Pretzel Class”.
I have Blogspot, and it looks like there’s a link called ‘Suscribe by email’ underneath the comments that will send follow up comments on the post. (This is before the ‘Post Comments (Atom)’ link.) I think there are just two camps of social media users–the abreviatrs and the non-abbreviators. LOL. Like the political parties, neither side is going to change the other!
I’m going to look at pain as accomplishment. LOL
Even if I subscribe to posts by email (which I do) it still doesn’t send me the comments, just the posts. And I don’t show a link called Subscribe by Email under the comments. I promise, it’s not there. There is a place close to the top of your blog that says Subscribe to Comments, but there’s no email option. And I don’t get on Google Reader often, so that wouldn’t help. π¦
I’m sorry for all the frustration with Blogspot. I feel like a blind walking fool myself with all the online tech mumbo jumbo and glitches sometimes. On my end, I am seeing “Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom) ” way down below the field where you post a new comment. When I click on that, it takes me to a subscription page like WordPress does.
When I click on it, it goes to a folder where it wants me to download “default” to my computer. Yours is probably working because you’re actually using blogspot. I don’t know. It puzzles me.
I can’t stand abbreviations in texts and tweets, either. So it’s not just you. My boss is worried people in their early twenties know nothing else besides the text/tweet lingo, and it’s going to severely affect the quality of our written communications as these folks move into professional work. I don’t think it’s any reason for panic, myself. But it isn’t a comfortable space for me. π
I’m glad I’m not alone. I guess if the school system will teach the younger people how it’s supposed to be done, then maybe it won’t be so bad. LOL. It’s funny that my youngest son is only 23, but he hates the abbreviations, too. So there’s hope. π
T
Is this one of those abbreviations??? Hahahahahahahaha
Oh, def. That’s what I meant!!
Trying to leave a comment on blogspot can be really difficult. Not sure how to subscribe.
I don’t mind people using 2 and U in text messages but not so much on Twitter.
My oldest son uses 2 and U in texts. I can live with it. But I agree it’s much worse in Twitter. And it’s not just younger people that are doing it.
I don’t mind some of the text acronyms like OMG and LMFAO, and for some reason ROFL cracks me up, it sounds like something a grumpy ogre would say. But 2, u, r, simple laziness like that drives me crazy especially on Facebook. Come on kids, spelling is fun!
I have no clue what blogspot is, can’t help there.
As for soreness, if I don’t feel sore the next day I feel like I didn’t do enough, or that my body is getting used to the routine so it’s time to shake things up. While I write this my weights are looking at me and laughing calling me sissy names. Time to go push some weights around.
Oh, I don’t mind the acronyms (except the first one you said because I don’t take God’s name in vain). I actually used ROFLMAO in an email yesterday. I’m just talking about 2, u, r, etc. I don’t know WHY it bothers me, really. Maybe it’s a writer thing.
Blogspot (or Blogger) is the OTHER blogging place. You know, the one that’s not WordPress. LOL
Well, I must have done enough since I’m pretty sore today. π Go show those weights who’s boss!
The abbreviations like u, 2, r drive me crazy because it takes me longer to read it since I have to think about what they’re saying. I don’t do that with chatting or Twitter either.
I don’t understand Blogspot, so I’ve given up trying. I manage to make comments once in a while (sometimes it works and sometimes my comment keeps getting booted out). I don’t know how to subscribe to comments so I can’t help you there.
It takes me longer 2 read 2 since it’s not natural. Hahahaha, I couldn’t resist doing that!
It’s so easy to subscribe to comments in WordPress. I wish Blogspot and WordPress would play nice with each other. π
LOL Would you believe I had to slow down and carefully read that first sentence? It’s not natural at all. π
