Hey there, fellow ROW80ers! How’s everyone doing?
I have nothing really earth shattering to report. For my main goal of an average of 500 words per day, I’m 382 words ahead. I took off on Friday because…well…I wanted to. LOL. That’s one reason I like to stay ahead, so I can have a day off here and there.
On the exercise front? Well, I did ride my bike one evening. My whole body was aching so badly the next morning that I had to take pain medicine. It was clear that riding a bike after not doing it for many years really takes a toll on a body that’s not so young anymore. But I have to keep at it. And I seriously need a bike carrier for my car. Have you ever tried to get a bike back into an HHR? I had the back seats laid down, but it took three of us to get it in. And it took us a long time. It’s funny how my husband got it in there that morning all by himself with no problems….
Good job on going over on your word count.. annnnd… we all need a day off here and there! I took off last Monday and got a lot done. 🙂
I do have a bike rack on the back of my car. It is removable. I love it. If I want to take the bicycle to the park, it takes four minutes to hook the rack up and get the bikes on.
if you are going to be doing a lot of bike riding, it is a wise investment.
Good job on reaching your goals… keep up the good work!
Darlene
Thanks, Darlene!
I definitely need a bike rack. I’m just trying to figure out how one would work with an HHR. Like how would I get the hatch up with the bike rack on there? I’m sure the people at the bike shop can tell me all that. LOL
Great job on staying ahead of the writing goal!
Ah, the joys of exercise. When I started using my treadmill in Round 3 I did short, low speed, low impact walks at first and then built up to more challenging ones once my body figured out what was going on. Even 10 minutes a day is good at first, just enough to tone up muscle and prepare it for the road ahead.
Have a great week and best of luck with the exercise regimen 🙂
Thanks, Gene!
I need to walk on my treadmill on the days I don’t ride. And shake it up sometimes with the Wii Fit. Hopefully, I’ll do better this week with the exercise!
great job on being ahead of your word count. I agree with the others that’s it’s always good to take a day off now and then. I usually write every day during the week, but normally will take the weekends off, unless the urge to write something down really hits me.
Thanks, FR. I do need a day off from time to time. I usually take my days off through the week, or maybe on Sunday. I don’t take off on Saturday, usually, because that’s the day I have the most time.
Oh, be careful you don’t hurt yourself trying to get in shape because that would be wrong.
Already blowing past your word count? Nice.
LOL, Andrew. I’ll try really hard not to overdo it too much. My friends could have gone on much longer, but they are used to going up and down stairs in their three story house, so their legs are in shape. They rode a little while before I got there because they knew I couldn’t ride as long. 🙂
I’m trying to stay ahead. I’m going to Disney World in a couple of weeks and I don’t know how much writing I’ll get done since my friends wanted adjoining rooms and they’ll want to keep the door open until lights out. And they have an eight year old son….
Great job getting ahead of the game. That feels great, doesn’t it? It’s amazing how husbands can pack anything into a car. Mine can too. Good luck with your goals this week and with the sore muscles.
It does feel really good to be ahead.
My husband is just as good at packing a suitcase, a tote for storage, etc. I always let him pack up the Christmas decorations. I don’t know how he does it. 🙂
Good job on the word count. I know what you mean about having to take pain medicine after exercising. I tried doing the treadmill at 6 grade and going for 30 minutes. Killed my legs. Easier to go for one hour, no grade and walk farther and work off just as many calories.
Thanks, Robin.
I can’t do the treadmill on a grade, either. But I think if we kept up our walking on it, we could gradually up the grade. Gradually is the key word. LOL
I once put bike in car sooo difficult and drove to park with dog – good thinking 2 exercised at once – car park not good place to start so went into park and then discovered tyres were flat!! dog had already gone ahead so what to do? I took the bike for a walk:) kills my family when they think of it !!! ah well
all the best for coming week
What a funny story! It sounds like something that would happen to me. LOL
Thanks, and good luck to you, too.
Great job on your wordcount. I like to take days off too. Good luck with the rest of your week’s goals! I haven’t seen you on Twitter much and wanted to stop by and say “hi!” 🙂
Thanks, Tiffany! I’m usually on Twitter at work most of the day, but I’ve been covered up doing two people’s job this week. I’ll try to do better. LOL
