Finally, I wrote one day last week! Saturday, I wrote 2038 words. So I’m breathing a sigh of relief. I was beginning to think I just couldn’t write anymore, but I think it was just all the stress worrying about my husband, worrying about finances, worrying about everything. Well, I shouldn’t use the word “worry”, I guess I should say concerned. Worry shows a lack of faith. But none of us are perfect, right? So, yeah, I guess I was worried. But hubby is feeling SO much better. He’s pretty much back to normal, at least on the surface. I know the clots are still there, but his last chest x-ray was better, and his blood is finally thinning like it should. That was a real concern. The doctor made him do some things like walk briskly up and down the hallway to see if he had shortness of breath, and he passed that test. So he is definitely much better. Yay!

Next week, I plan to get back to the gym for weight work. Then, in the evenings, I’ll either walk on the treadmill at home or ride my bike (if I can find the pump to air the tires!). I want to combine the weight and aerobic exercises and get back to healthy living. And I’m going to try to get back to writing at least three days a week, then go up to four. Hopefully, life will get back on track!

Last week was so much better on the writing front. My goal is to write three days a week. Well, I was lazy Friday, so I did some things I wanted to do instead of actually, you know, WORKING. But, even though I only wrote two days, I churned out 3,822 words. If I was averaging 500 words a day, seven days a week…it would be better than that. LOL. I wrote about 2900 words on Saturday. I just sat down and words started flowing. I was by myself, there was silence, and I was in the mood. It’s really hard for me to write that many words in one sitting, but I did it. 🙂

My WIP is evolving into something totally different than I originally planned. It was going to be a paranormal romance, but it looks like it’s going to be a mystery/horror. I started out with a ghost. Then I suddenly had a “not quite human” murderer. So I had to figure out how the ghost was relevant now. But I finally figured that out. Now there’s a mine. There wasn’t originally a plan for a mine to be in this story, but it really helps explain some other things in the story. This story is starting to write itself and surprise me at every turn. That’s usually when I start loving it. 🙂

There’s not too much going on. I only wrote 2 days last week for total of 1745. That’s about half of what I would like to see on word count, but I’m still all about time instead of word count. So I was three days short of what I should have been writing. I’m still trying to get into the good habits again. I feel good about this week, though. I’m feeling more into to my WIP.

If you keep up with my blog, you know my husband cracked a bone in his ankle, so he’s on crutches. That’s caused me a little extra work, but I don’t mind at all. He’s always taking care of me. 🙂

I ordered the Flylady’s Office in a Bag with Control Journal. I’m trying to get my life under control. You know, the cleaning house part? Flylady is all about organization in all areas, but house cleaning is her main focus. We’ll see how that goes.

What’s up with ya’ll?

I know I’m a day late, but I was traveling yesterday. My word counts were pretty good considering I’m trying to jump back into a project I haven’t worked on in a while. Monday, word count was 772. I’m not sure about Tuesday because my dropbox folder wouldn’t sync due to a connection at the hotel that wasn’t secure, and now my computer at home is turned off. But I know it was about 650. So I’m pleased.

I know this is supposed to be a post about ROW80, but I can’t resist posting something else. The picture below shows what happens when you leave your car at a friend’s house while you’re out of town. Beware of friends with strange intentions. This is just a small sample of all the eyeballs I found in my car.

A so-so week….

Writing: I only wrote 1748 words this past week. The only bright side to that is that it’s more than twice what I wrote the previous week. But I would really like to write a minimum of 2500, even though my goals are time goals, not word goals. But I do keep up with words. I just wish I could love this WIP. I’m working on that. There are many times I’l start a book, and I just can’t love it, but then after a few chapters, things start working. This one is just slower getting to that point.

Health: I’m on track with exercise. I walked on the treadmill at the gym four days. I ramped it up a little on Friday, going a little faster and a little longer. I’m having some trouble with feet, ankles, and knees, but I’m just working through the pain. If it gets bad, I might have to think about doing something different. It sucks getting older. 😦 I still need to work on my eating habits. I’m doing a little better. I had soup and salad for lunch today, and I didn’t eat it all. Of course, now I’m starving. LOL

And on a topic that has nothing to do with goals…but it’s my blog, so you can either read on or not. LOL I’ve been searching for an actor that I think would be a good fit for my character, John, in Haunted Lake. I’ve never been able to find just that right guy. But I’ve finally found him! Jay Ryan from Beauty and the Beast! Not only does he have the scar (on the show, not in real life), but he has the raspy voice my character has. John actually has more scars than Vincent from BatB, but he is a LOT like I pictured him in my story. I’m so glad to have finally found him! Here’s a link to his picture on IMDB. Jay Ryan as Vincent

This week is starting off a little better. Monday, I only wrote 361 words, but last night I managed 505. I’m still not sure how to fill in the blanks on this story. It might end up being a novella instead of a novel. I’ve been trying to write novels instead of being the queen of novellas, but this one may not make it. We’ll see. It will be as long as it wants to be.

I went to the gym Monday and Tuesday, doing cardio only. As I posted earlier, I’m going to focus on cardio this week and then see how it goes with weight work. When I go at lunch, there’s a time constraint, so I might have to change the times of my workouts.

How are ya’ll doing? (Yes, I’m from the south.)

I sat down at my computer last night, in my office, determined to stay there an hour no matter what. Guess how many words I wrote? 361. That’s right, 361. I’m having so much trouble with this book. I know the major plot points. I know the ending. But I have no idea what to put in between there to get to those points. This is as close as I’ve ever come to writing with an outline. It should be easier. But I can’t figure out how to write the in between stuff without it being boring. You know, just a day in the life until THIS comes up. I wonder if this is because the story wasn’t my idea? I mean, it’s a GOOD story. A REALLY good story. So maybe I just need to sit down with hubby and see what else HE wants to happen. He pretty much gave me the outline, with some input from me. I don’t want to abandon this project. I want it to work.

On the bright side. The picture below shows one of the reasons I love living out in the country. I snapped this picture with my iPad as I drove down my driveway on the way to work this morning. Most of my property looks like this. Oh, and that truck is my son’s. It doesn’t run, and it’s going to be crushed by a dead tree soon if he doesn’t figure out how to move it.

I wrote 834 words this week. I wrote one day. I kept having “reasons” not to write.

I worked out one day this week. Is there some kind of one day theme here?

I’m a total slacker. Please don’t try to tell me it’s okay. Don’t try to make me feel better. KICK MY BUTT. Seriously, that’s what I need right now.

Drum roll, please. LOL. Anyway, the winner of the Soul of a Vampire giveaway is Kristina Haecker! Congrats, Kristina!

So here’s what’s going on for ROW80:

Writing: I’m about 1100 words along on my WIP. I’ve hit a few personal snags that’s kept me from writing as much as I’d like, but I think the rest of the week, and the weekend, will get back to normal.

Print book update: They’ve sent me the proof for Vampires’ Curse, so I’m just waiting on that. I’m also waiting on Anya to finish the print cover for Soul of a Vampire. I asked her to change something, so it’s my fault it’s not finished. LOL.

Health: I haven’t worked out yet this week. Monday I was having a major issue with one of my feet, and yesterday I used my lunch hour to write because I was going out to eat last night with a fellow author who lives here in town. (I think she would wish to remain anonymous, LOL.) I didn’t get in until late. I hope to return to my routine tomorrow.

So, what’s up with the rest of you?

I almost forgot to post today! I never miss posting on Sundays, but last week was so disrupted because of my trip to Chicago. I guess my days got mixed up. Anyway, I had a little progress this week, but not as much as I had hoped. I was sleepy all day Saturday. I just couldn’t get to all the things I wanted to do. I had no energy, and I kept falling asleep every time I started to watch something on TV. I think my body was making up for all the sleep I’m NOT getting lately (for one reason or another).

Here’s the word count: Tuesday-1096, Friday-1500. It was only two days, but the word counts were good on those days, so I’m okay with it. This book only has a few more scenes left before it’s finished. I’m still trying to figure out the love scene for the ending. I don’t think it necessarily needs the characters to have sex, but at the same time I get a little flack in reviews when my characters DON’T have sex. Whatever I decide, I’m certainly not going to tell since there are a few of you who I know will read the book. In fact, I’m not sure there necessarily has to be a steamy love scene at all, given the circumstances. See, now I’m really confusing everyone. LOL. But I’ll write what I feel when I write it.
