I got no writing done this past week. None. As most of you know, my husband broke and sprained his ankle 2 1/2 weeks ago. He’s now having some complications that caused us to take a trip to the doctor this morning (ours is open on Sundays). I’ve always known my husband does most of the housework. But now that I’m having to do it, I’m realizing just how much he’s doing. I’m having to do what he usually does, plus wait on him a little since the doctor told him to stay off the foot as much as possible. He was trying to walk on it too soon.
Anyway…I decided to concentrate on the house and on hubby last week. To me, that’s first priority. Between being so busy at work plus the extra work at home, it’s about all I can do. I’m not going to push myself or my writing will suffer. I’m going to try to write at least two or three days this week, but its not set in stone. Part of that will be determined by what hubby’s ultrasound shows tomorrow. We’re hoping it’s not a blood clot.
Oh bless his heart. I was hoping he might be on the mend. I know it’s hard of both of you right now dealing with this. 😦
Don’t worry about your writing right now. Just focus on the hubby and the house and surviving work. (I know Spring is uber busy there.)
And let me know if there is anything I can do to help. 🙂
Thanks, Anya. This is just so discouraging. And you know why this scares me…because our friend died of blood clots. 😦
Yes, I do know. 😦 (((hugs)))
Wow. Your husband is amazing. He does housework? I envy you. 😀
I hope it turns out there’s no blood clot and that he heals soon.
You’re right to put writing aside. It’s impossible when you have as much to deal with as you do. My prayers are with you and your family.
My husband is VERY amazing. He does MOST of the housework.
Thank you for your prayers. This is scary.
My prayers are with you and your husband.
DVT’s are can be scary but are also easily remedied if found early enough. Best of luck.
Hi, Chris. He went for his ultrasound this morning, and although the doctor hasn’t seen the results yet, the technician said he didn’t see a blood clot. That’s good news. Now if they can just figure out what’s causing his pain.
That sucks – I hope he improves soon. He must be out of his mind with boredom having to sit around so much.
Seriously, if my partner broke his ankle, my house would fall apart. Maybe I should appreciate him more. 😉
He is VERY bored. He’s used to doing stuff all the time, and sitting around is killing him.
Yeah, you probably ought to appreciate him more. LOL
I wish your husband a speedy recovery, and that is he is fit and well. I know how I felt when my husband had heart complications. He is now enjoying a happy and healthy life.
Thanks, Katy. I certainly hope he’s on the mend. He’s going crazy sitting around, and we’re trying to figure out how to pay the next mortgage payment without him working. 😦
You have a lot on your plate and on your mind. And you’re right family is first priority. You’d probably feel all guilty and distracted if you tried to write anyway.
Good luck to you and your husband, and here’s to a speedy recovery.
You’re right, I would feel guilty and distracted. But I think there’s going to be light at the end of the tunnel soon! 🙂
Thanks, Amy.
