Thursday evening, Anya Kelleye and I are going on our own little retreat. There’s a cabin in Ellijay, GA where she’s stayed before, and we’re renting that one for Thursday and Friday nights. It’s by the river, and it’s going to be so beautiful and peaceful. Anya is the only person I know who can sit quietly with me and let me work. I plan on doing a lot of writing and she’s going to work on book covers. And we’ll both probably do some reading, too. We’re still trying to figure out if we want to cook or if we want to just take finger foods. All I know is it’s going to be a fun time! Just so long as the scorpions stay away. That’s one creature that gives me the heebie jeebies, and they are known to frequent some of the cabins in this area. They are the little bitty scorpions, but they still sting!
Anyway, here are some pictures from the website North Ga Cabin Rentals. Maybe if you’re ever in the southeast US, you can stay in this beautiful place!
Fun! I’m jealous!
Maybe you and Susan can come sometime and we’ll all four have a blast. I know it’s a long drive for you, but CABIN BY THE RIVER. And there’s three bedrooms.
Can’t wait, can’t wait, can’t wait! Oh and the blue tub was where I found that scorpion several years ago. π
It’s going to be such a great trip! I’m thinking mostly finger foods. Maybe one meal we can heat up? I’m still thinking.
Okay, you can stay in that room. LOL
Finger foods are good. Lots of cheese. π
Of course there will be cheese! LOL
With the exception of the scorpions, that sounds like sheer heaven!!! Have lots of fun! π
Juli, I’m hoping for a non-scorpion retreat. I’m planning on taking lots of pictures. π
Sounds like fun! I think you lost me at “scorpions” though. Brings back memories of my stay at a friends house near Austin, TX as a kid. Her mom warned me they might drop out of the insulation in the rafters. I hope you don’t see any!
I hope I don’t see any, either! Of course I saw a nasty looking centipede at home this morning. It was one of those with really thin spidery legs, and it moved SO fast. Not as fast as the bottom of my shoe, though. π
Looks gorgeous, the perfect place to do some writing.
And fishing! I’m taking my fishing gear. Lauralynn doesn’t like to fish though. π
She can cook the fish after and you can put your feet up! π
Hmmm…good idea! LOL
No, terrible idea. I don’t clean fish. And they must be cleaned before cooking. Besides, I know you mostly catch and release. That’s why I don’t see the point of fishing. LOL.
It’s a game. See who wins, the fish or the fisher. Usually it’s the fish. Ha!
Yes, and I’ll probably be working on the book my husband thought of. Plus, I might still be in the middle of edits for Soul of a Vampire. And formatting Vampires’ Curse for print. See, I have plenty to do.
And if Anya wants to fish, let her fish. I have absolutely no interest in that. In fact, I won’t be able to stand seeing those poor fish on hooks, so I probably won’t even watch.
Are you going to take any break for yourself? π
Of course I am, Emma. π I’ll probably work during the day and chill out at night. I can only work so long at a time anyway.
That looks beautiful. Hope you both have a great time.
Kinda would like to see a scorpion though. π
If I see one, Claire, I’ll be sure to take a picture and post it! π
No. No scorpions!
Yay! Lol. Sorry, Lauralynn, but I’m totally hoping Anya spots one now. π
Of course, Claire. Because then there would be much screaming…and I would never hear the end of it. LOL
Maybe I should do video instead of pictures. hahahaha
