Writing is going well, I think. I finally got the chapter done where the hero and heroine meet the three challenges. It wasn’t too hard to write once I figured out what I wanted to do with each riddle. I didn’t spend a great amount of time on each one, although there is some action in the scenes, because the REAL challenge is coming up. This is where they will be fighting the creature. And I’m trying to draw a picture of it in my mind. I want it to be a really scary creature. 🙂
Here are my word counts: Mon-435, Tues-1648, Thurs-1001, Sat-847
How are you guys doing? Or, now that most of you know I have a southern accent…how are ya’ll doin’?
P.S. If you didn’t see my post from yesterday, and you want to see a good action-packed movie, check out The Expendables 2!
Nice word counts, Lauralynn! I love when a scene comes together. I can’t wait to hear what riddles you came up with.
We lived in the south for some years…and it is easy to pick up a hint of the drawl. When we moved back north, a few people commented on my southern accent – surprising me, because everyone in the south had commented on my Pittsburgh accent! Ha!
Thanks, Nadja. But now Anya is telling me the scenes went too fast. I’m not fixing that right now. I’ll see what we all think when it’s read through all at once. I wanted to really concentrate on the fight scene with the creature, and I don’t want the cave scenes to drag on and on. It will all make more sense to me after the read through. I usually let it set a few days before reading it again.
Oh, I have MUCH more than a hint of an accent. LOL. Even if you pick up just a hint of it, though, the northerners think you have an accent. And the southerners never think you lost your northern accent. 🙂
Creature fighting! Sounds good! 🙂 I’m glad that your creative juices are flowing.
I find southern accents charming. I’ve been told my Californian accent is pretty strong. (I learned this when my family moved to South Dakota) I don’t know what they meant by that, I just hope it wasn’t that I end everything with a question mark. hahaha
I would rather write creature fighting than people fighting. LOL
I’m not sure what California accents are like. I talk to people from California on the phone at work and it seems their accents are kind of neutral. I find the hardest for me to understand are those from Louisiana. 🙂
Great word counts! My own writing feels like it’s going slow, mostly because I’m trying to work it in around hanging out with my daughter. She goes back to her mother’s place tomorrow night. I’ll miss her, but I’ll also be able to focus more.
I hope you nail the creature fight!
Hanging out with your daughter is the most important thing. The writing will always be there. 🙂
Great job on your word counts. I’m looking forward to the day that your book gets published so I can read these sections you’re writing now. I’m a fan of fantasy, and the riddle/challenge and creature-fighting sections are right up my alley.
Good luck pushing through, and enjoy the process!
Thanks, Mike. The book isn’t fantasy but the challenges and the creature fight are things you find in fantasy. 🙂
Good word counts. How’s the creature coming along?
I did some writing Saturday but ended up at a car boot sale all day Sunday. Up at 6am, home for 5pm and I was in bed fast asleep at 9pm. I’ll have to make it up this week.
I haven’t gotten to the fight yet. Today I’ve been on a plane, then a train, then walked an hour to my hotel. I’m in Chicago! LOL. I don’t know how much writing I can get done here, but I’m going to try.
Wow, look at your wordcounts, they are brilliant. I hope this week goes as well.
Thanks!
A scary creature? This sounds like my kind of book. 😀
Even though I know you have a southern accent, I can’t picture it. I guess I got too used to your blog voice. You sound “midwest” to me. LOL
Great word counts. It sounds like the book is coming together nicely.
I just did the fight scene with the creature last night. I might need to expand on it more. We shall see.
Ruth, I thought you knew I was from the southeast. LOL. I really do have a pretty strong southern accent.
