I’ve been very nervous about every aspect of this book. So the cover is no exception. But I think it’s time to let people see the cover of my current WIP, which will also finally give my title away. This is the first time I’ve ever had the title before starting the story. In fact, it was the title popping into my mind that actually started this story. So, without further ado, here is the fabulous Jimmy Thomas, cover model extraordinaire with “the bottle”. And you have to read the book to understand that part. LOL
Also, on another note, the lovely and sweet Emma Meade nominated me for three blog awards. 🙂 I’m also supposed to tell seven things about myself. I’m going to break the chain (sorry) and not nominate seven more people because I don’t want to miss anyone I should tag. Anyway, here are the awards.
And here are seven things about me:
1. My favorite author is Stephen King.
2. My favorite movie is Half Light.
3. I love roller coasters.
4. I’m a coffee snob…I love the good stuff.
5. I have a very strong southern accent.
6. Hubby and I are about to celebrate our 30th anniversary.
7. And here’s the embarrassing story. One time my husband and I were in a restaurant with another couple. I was wearing a black skirt, black leggings, and black boots. The two men got up and went on out to the car, and my friend and I got up to start on out a couple of minutes later. I realized that for some reason, I couldn’t walk. I looked down, and there was my very white slip down around my ankles. My friend and I burst out laughing, and I reached down and pulled my slip out from around my ankles and put it in my purse. My friend and I were laughing so hard, we could barely walk, and it took us forever to tell the guys what had happened.
Yay! The secret is out!
Yep. I kept the title to myself for awhile on purpose. LOL
Oooh, cover! It looks really great, Lauralynn!
And now I’m wondering if #5 is going to change how I read your posts, heee.
Thanks, L.S.! You’re going to have to think in a southern accent when you read now. LOL.
#7…awesome story!!! This is something I would do! 😉 Congrats on the new cover for your new book and happy anniversary!
Isn’t that the funniest thing? It was really embarrassing, and I have no idea how many people in the restaurant saw it because I wouldn’t look at them. LOL.
Thanks, I’m looking forward to FINISHING this book. 🙂
My hubby and I have been together for a long time. He’s the greatest.
Cover reveals are such a great moment! Congrats to you and Anya both! And of course, I am appreciating the beauty that is Jimmy Thomas.
Bottle? Read to find out?? Okay. I’m ready. Lol.
We all appreciate the beauty that is Jimmy. 🙂
Soon, Nadja, soon. LOL
Love the cover! Congrats on the blog award nomination! And on your anniversary! 30 years is a long time to not hit each other over the head with a frying pan and run screaming into the sunset. It must be LOVE 🙂 Rollercoasters??? That’s really scary. You’re a braver woman than me.
Thanks, Michelle! And, yes, 30 years is a long time. We’ve had some rough times, but the last 15 years have really been great. He’s so awesome.
I LOVE roller coasters. Not the bumpy wooden ones that jar your brains out, but the smoother rail kind. I love going upside down!
When I was dating my husband, I put on my ‘big girl panties’ and went to an amusement park with him. After just feeling a little bruised on the old wooden coaster, I felt brave enough to try the loop-de-loo and spent the next three hours throwing up! Never again.
Cover is hot & very enticing. Is Half Light the movie with Demi Moore?
You should do an audio book so we can hear your accent 🙂
All covers with Jimmy are hot. 🙂 Yes, that’s the movie I’m talking about. It’s not for everyone, but it’s just the right amount of spooky, gloomy, haunting for my taste. And I think Hans Matheson is so sexy in it.
I’ve always thought it would be fun to do an audio book. 🙂 Maybe I’ll do a podcast or something one of these days. Now if only I had the right equipment….
LOL on the embarrassing moment. You handled it very well. 😀
Awesome cover! Now I’m intrigued about the bottle and how it ties into the plot. I’ll have to read the book to find out. 😉
We were laughing so hard, tears were streaming down our faces, and we couldn’t even tell our husbands until we calmed down. LOL
Thanks, Ruth! The bottle is very important to the story.
Nice cover and congrats on winning three Emmy’s (since they’re from Emma, tee hee). A southern accent huh? Now when reading your blog aloud (I read out loud unless in a public place then I just mouth the words, I also read while listening to classical music and after writing this I feel like a prissy prima donna) I’m gonna have to do it in a southern accent too. I like accents there fun. Ahhhhhhhh. And I can’t wait to read the book! Ciao
Emmys from Emma. LOL. Do you really read out loud? I can’t do that around here…it would drive my husband crazy. LOL. Now everyone is going to think about my southern accent every time they read my blog. 🙂 I hope you’ll like the book.
Great cover. Love the lost slip story. Did that slip make it home with you or did it wind up in the trash can?
Thanks! I still have the slip, but it’s so loose on me, I don’t wear it anymore. I guess I really need to ditch it.
I tell you, slips were getting hard to find but I have noticed my Walmart has started carrying them again. Maybe they are getting a little more popular. Although the only ones I have see are kind of short to knee leangth. Dont see long half slips much anymore. If yours is still in good shape and just big on you , you might want to donate it to goodwill or something like that. lol
Yes, I’ve had the hardest time finding slips. The one that’s big on me has pretty much lost all its elastic. I wouldn’t give it to my worst enemy. LOL
