I didn’t get quite as many words in last week. Life happened, but it’s okay. I still got a fairly decent word count. Mon-719, Thurs-745, Sat-1733.
I was going to cut out patterns and possibly material yesterday. However, I couldn’t find my good scissors. They weren’t in my old cross stitching stuff, which is where I thought they were. They weren’t in my jewelry making stuff. I don’t know WHERE they are. And you can’t cut material with crappy scissors. So I guess I’ll be buying new ones.
I saw a GREAT movie on Netflix, recommended by Susan Bischoff. It was Fire with Fire about two teenagers in love. That’s all I’m going to say about it. Go watch it. (Don’t get it mixed up with a more recent movie with the same name.)
What have the rest of you been doing?
I bet as soon as you go out and buy new scissors, that’s precisely the moment the old scissors will show up…
And look at that Saturday word count! Whoo-hoo!
Ha ha, L.S. That’s what usually happens to me. However, I did buy some scissors, and my old ones haven’t turned up. The little people who steal things and hoard them in their den must have gotten them. LOL
The Saturday count felt good since the other two days weren’t as good as I’ve been doing. I’m getting to the point in my story where I need some riddles. I’m working on that. 🙂
Great going on the wordcount – nightmare when the Borrowers come to stay – everything goes missing, only to appear mysteriously when you no longer need them.
LOL, the Borrowers. I just can’t imagine where those scissors went. I did buy some new ones, but if the old ones show up, at least I’ll have two good pairs for the Borrowers to take. 🙂
You are so write about scissors and fabric. It’s best not to start cutting until you have a new pair, unless you have a rotary cutter?

Hi, Diana! A rotary cutter? I’m lucky to have scissors. LOL. I did buy a new pair. The ones I have in my kitchen drawer would have annihilated my fabric. Since I haven’t sewn in years, I need to make sure I do everything right. Which includes using the right tools. 🙂
Nice job on your word count! By the way, my wife’s scissors hide themselves at times, but a day or two later will make a random appearance in a highly visible location. One of those weird things you wish you could explain. Have a great week, Lauralynn 🙂
Thanks, Gene! I’m convinced someone is moving my stuff around. It’s much easier than blaming it on getting older and losing stuff. LOL
Life does happen. Good luck getting back to those high word counts this week.
Life does, doesn’t it? My plans are to get those riddles figured out and get that scene done in the next couple of days.
Fire with Fire, huh? I’ll check it out. And hey, at least you wrote something!
I’ve been pushing myself to participate in Camp Nanowrimo. It keeps me accountable.
Otherwise, I’ve just been pushing to finish Aeris and post it. Looks like that will happen in the next 24 hours or so. 🙂
I just can’t do NaNo anymore. I have to write at my own pace, and I’ve finally started doing that without anyone pushing me. I like participating in ROW80 because I do like to be accountable to some extent, but I’m finally treating this more like a job, and it’s up to me to make sure I do it.
Oh, so close to publishing Aeris! Good luck with it. I need to put your books on my huge TBR list. 🙂
Hello, Lauralynn. I’m new to ROW80 and appreciate very much your slice of life posting, especially the link between writing and sewing! I’m in the editing rather than word count mode, but making steady progress. Persevere! And I hope you find your scissors.
Welcome to ROW80! I try to post different things, not JUST about writing. Because there are SO many things in life to talk about. 🙂 And I’m nervous about this sewing project, since it’s been years. since I’ve touched a machine. I actually had to buy new scissors.
The editing process can be tedious, but it’s all part of writing! Good luck with it.
Glad you got new scissors! (P.S. I love how when I read Gene’s comment, I thought he was admitting to stealing his wife’s scissors. That’s totally what happens in my house. Not even buying a hot pink pair helped hehe!)
Great progress, good luck with the sewing, and thanks for the movie rec!!
My new scissors are awesome. :). Yeah, I wonder if Gene moves them around. LOL No one better ttouch my scissors. There are two other pairs in the kitchen for other stuff.
Thanks, Lauren. And that movie…wonderful. You really should watch it.
Okay. My curiosity is piqued. I just found “Fire With Fire” on Netflix and am starting it.
You got more done than I did. I think I managed to edit a total of four chapters in the past week and wrote nothing. I love this time with the kids, so I’m not complaining. I’m just hoping that going slower means I’m doing a better job with the first round of edits. My editor will let me know soon. LOL
I hate dull scissors. Getting a new pair is a must. 😀
I hope you like the movie.
I think the time with kids will relax you and help you get ready for writing when they go back to school.
