My husband was just commenting on how beautiful our dogwood trees were this year. These pictures don’t really show them as well as I had hoped, but maybe you can get a little picture of why I love living where I do. Please don’t pay attention to the grass that’s in desperate need of mowing.
Lovely, Lauralynn! Thanks for sharing.
I love living out in the country! š
Beautiful!
Hey, Anya, you live out in the country like I do. LOL
Yeah, but my dogwoods are hiding in the trees right now. They’ll pop out in the next day or two.
That’s weird. I figured yours would bloom at the same time mine did. We only live about what, 7 or 8 miles apart? Maybe it’s because the ones you can see in the pictures are at the edge of the woods and are getting more sun.
I’m loving the spring tree blossoms! I don’t know what they are really called, but there are trees that get their white or pink blooms early – and the blooms are clusters of very tiny flowers – that my grandmother called ‘pear-blossom-trees’ They’re my favorite!
The beautiful white flowered trees we get here are Bradford Pears. That’s probably the same thing your grandmother was talking about. Most of ours have already bloomed and gone. Spring came a little early this year.
If you look at that first picture, those are rose bushes I have in pots. I can’t wait to see how many roses I have left, because I’ve lost some of them. I really need to prune them. LOL
You had spring early this year? Ours finally arrived over the weekend. We had snow last week!
I think your area must be in the minority. We get calls from all over the country, and “spring a month early” is what I keep hearing. One city in the NE, I think it was Chicago, had a high of 87 when the norm for this time of year is 48. We’ve had temps in the mid to high 80’s lately. We’re back down in the 70’s now. In 1993, we had a blizzard in March. I had never seen a blizzard before! LOL Weather sure can be different from year to year.
Your place looks beautiful. I live in the suburbs so there’s nowhere nice to even go for a walk. Maybe I should think about moving š
I love living out in the country. And I’m only a few yards away from my mom’s house where I grew up. I’ve never lived anywhere else. š
Thanks for the lovely photos. Doesn’t spring just rock? We have a peach tree with pretty pink blossoms on it right now. I has been unusually warm here too. I did some gardening today that normally would have been postponed for a few weeks.
I really, really need to prune my roses! I love spring, but it makes it a lot tougher here at my job…just like at yours. š
