This has been a totally frustrating few days. On Sunday, I somehow injured my shoulder. I wasn’t really doing anything…I just felt a sharp pain. Then I couldn’t pull on anything (like to open doors) or move it in certain directions without horrible pain. So that really put a damper on the exercise. It seems to be a little better today, but that’s what I thought yesterday until there was a big clap of thunder which caused me to jump…and then to scream in pain. I think the people here in the office just thought I yelled because the thunder scared me.
Yesterday, I developed a migraine right before I left for work. I know it was due to the storm that passed through because changes in barometric pressure usually trigger my migraines. When I got home, I didn’t feel like doing anything but sacking out on the couch and watching TV. Then my power went out. Bleh. Needless to say, I didn’t get any writing done last night, which put me just a little bit behind on my word count. Luckily, I was a little ahead, so I’m not a whole day behind.
I really hope the rest of you had better days this week!
OW. My sympathies. My migraines are usually triggered by heat (summer SUCKS). Take it easy with the shoulder and stick to some simple walking or something for exercise. Feel better!
Thanks, Kait. I need to do SOME kind of exercise. If I walk slowly on the treadmill, maybe I won’t have to hold on with my left hand. I’m kind of clumsy, so if I go fast, I have to hold on. LOL
Oh no! I really hope you feel better and have a better week going forward!
Thanks, Ryan. I leave for a business trip Friday, and I really want to be at least CLOSE to well by then.
Blargh! I hope you feel better all around and that the week improves!
Thanks, Stacey. I’m really looking forward to my business trip (it’s at the Biltmore Estate in NC) and I want to be better before then!
Yuck. Migraines are awful and completely draining. Really hope you feel better soon!
Thanks, Stacy. At least I don’t have them as often as I used to.
I’ve woken up with serious shoulder pain like that, couldn’t move my head. Had to go to ER and get a shot in rear end… not fun! Was so bizarre, have had it happen a few times for no rhyme or reason (but only that one time was so severe I sought medical treatment, usually I just use a heating pad) Take care of yourself, dear.
Elizabeth, it’s so weird how we can suddenly get pains like that. I can’t believe you had to get a shot that time! Thanks for caring. 🙂
I hope your headache is gone by now and your words are itching to write. I am impressed you even got to write your update!!
Brava for you!
I’m feeling better now, thanks, Julie. I hope the creative juices flow tonight because I have some catching up to do!
Oh, Lauralynn, I am SO sorry to hear that! I’ve had migraines for many years and the only thing worse is to have a migraine AND something else hurting, like a shoulder. Many sympathies and take it easy if you can.
Thanks so much, Jenny. I’m feeling better, so I hope I’ll be writing tonight!
Oh ow. I pulled my shoulder once just rolling over in bed while half-asleep. And for you to have migraines on top of it the shoulder pain – yikes. Hope you recover quickly.
I lost power last night too, but since I had to run into town anyway, I hung out at Tim Hortons for awhile and wrote there. May you charge ahead and write many words to make up for the dark time. ;D
I can’t believe the stuff I can do to my body by just moving a little. It must be a sign of getting older. LOL.
I already had my pajamas on and was sacked out in front of the TV. I wasn’t going anywhere. 🙂
I’m glad to see in the comments you’re feeling better. So the migraine is gone? Changes in barometric pressure trigger mine, too. We’re just the sensitive types, right? Hopefully your shoulder is improving too. Have a good ROW week!
Thank you, Suzanne. I’m feeling much better. We’re at least sensitive to the weather, anyway. LOL
Oops, meant to comment yesterday, not sure why I didn’t. Anyway, you know I feel your pain with the migraines. Yuk! Glad your shoulder is getting better and make sure you let me do the heavy lifting this weekend! 🙂 We are going to have fun even if we do have to work this weekend! Can’t wait!
Biltmore, here we come! We’re going to have a blast. 🙂
I sure hope your head and shoulder feel better…and that your power is back on. What a day, I’d say! I guess we have to have them once in awhile, right? ha! At least you’ve gotten yours over with for the month!
I’m better now, thanks Nadja. I’m at a rose society conference right now at the Biltmore. 🙂
Awww… that sucks! I’m glad to see in the comments that you’re feeling better. I know when I’m doing too much when I wake up with a tweaked neck from stress. So, you know, remember to breath and relax. 🙂
Good luck on your word count!
Kate, I just now realized I didn’t answer this comment. Grrrrr. Of course, I’m feeling better now. LOL. And on the word count? Things are looking up. 🙂
Hope your head and shoulder feels better soon. I usually know when the rain is coming because the knees and elbows start aching. I was just telling one of my employees a couple days ago before the rain rolled in and he was starting to get a migraine – it’s heck getting older. Have fun at the your conference.
Oh – in answer to your question if I hand write everything first, then type it up. Yes I do- can’t look at computer screen and be creative. It all flows better when writing.
Robin, I can’t believe I missed this comment! I always try to answer all comments on my blog.
I did have fun at my conference. You can look at one of my newer posts and see what happened. LOL
I just can’t believe you hand write stuff. My hands get tired even just using the computer!
