I don’t have a lot to report. I didn’t write anything Thursday because, well, I just didn’t want to. I went out of town on Friday, but I did get most of my words in Friday night in the hotel room. I didn’t get to write yesterday because I was working a booth for the company I work for in Hickory, NC all day, then we were on the road until 10:30. I was so sleepy, I couldn’t hold my eyes open. I expect to get my words in tonight. I’m still 1,071 words ahead, so I’m okay.
That’s all folks!
Sometimes a good night’s sleep is just better than cranking out some words. You’re still ahead though, you machine. š Well done and I hope this week goes well.
Thanks, Claire. I’m going to New Orleans tomorrow and will be in a hotel room for two nights. I hope I can make myself write while I’m there. I don’t want to get behind!
Congrats on being ahead and I’m glad you made it home safely from your trip.
Sometimes it’s good to just have a day to take a break from your writing. That way you have a fresh start and a clear mind for the next day.
Yeah, and I have to go out of town again tomorrow. I only had one day to recover from the first trip. Since I’m going to New Orleans, maybe that will inspire me to write something about it in the next ROW80 round. š
Sounds like you’re doing great even if you took some time off from writing. Sometimes we just need to get a breather and do something else for a little while.
That’s true, Tanja, and it’s especially hard to stay on track when you’re getting ready for a trip. I’ve been traveling more in the past year and it gets a little hectic sometimes. š
Congrats on being ahead! And you know what? As others have said, sometimes it’s good that we’re either too tired or life happens or whatever. Sometimes that day off of writing can lead to breakthroughs or even just a clearer head for the next time you sit down to hammer out words. š
Thanks, Claire. Right now I’m at a convention, and it’s making it hard to write. (Did I really HAVE to sit there at the restaurant until 11:00 hanging out with people?) But, as much as we love our writing, there are other things in our lives. It’s just a fact.
I hope you have a nice time in New Orleans. It will be a nice break from writing, so you can be even more refreshed for it when you get back. (Or…did you tell me that you’re known to write in hotel rooms?)
Sometimes I write in hotel rooms…but I got back to the room at 11:00, and I can barely keep my eyes open long enough to write this. LOL
Btw, I just wrote a post about how this hotel is supposed to be haunted! One of the guys we were eating with changed hotels when he found that out. Silly guy.
