It amazes me the things people can start arguments about on blogs. Sometimes I wish comments would be turned off on some of them. Because it’s like a train wreck…I don’t want to look, but I can’t help it. So I have to read everything. LOL

I was reading about a recipe – A RECIPE – and this huge argument ensued. The recipe listed “free range eggs” as an ingredient. Someone made a joke about it, asking why they had to use free range eggs. People started getting really ugly and some of the people who believed using free range eggs was the only responsible choice said some ugly things about the ones who didn’t care. This was a recipe. I just can’t believe how mean people can get. That’s why I rarely participate in conversations like that.

The other day, someone was writing on Livejournal about racism at a “Feminist” conference. I jokingly said, “isn’t that sexist?” You know, it was funny because…racism, sexism…. Someone jumped right on me about that. I had to assure them that I was just messing with the author of the post, who is a friend. I can’t believe how you have to watch every little thing that you say on the internet, even when you’re joking. People need to lighten up!

Novella

I’ve written the first chapter of the new novella that’s been floating around in my brain. At least I think it’s going to be a novella. I don’t feel like it’s going to be novel length, but you never know. It feels really good to finally be writing another story instead of just editing. This thing has been in my head for awhile, and I was afraid that if I didn’t start writing it, I was going to let it slip away.

Here’s the thing about novels vs novellas. I can put a novella on Amazon Kindle for $ .99 and it sells well. But i can put a novel on there for $1.99 and…not so much. It’s like people will take a chance on a new or unknown author for $ .99, but not for $1.99. And I feel like I put too much work into a novel to sell it for only that much. It should be at least $1.99. So right now, I have my two novels on Kindle for a limited time for $ .99 to see what will happen when lowering the price.

Stats!

I got an e-mail from Zoe Winters this morning letting me know that (at 3:00 am) my ranking on Amazon was #565! That feels so awesome! Especially since that’s out of about 1/2 million books and periodicals. The last time I looked, my ranks in certain categories were #12, #12, and #13. Yay!

Frustration!

My first three books are on goodreads.com. I’m trying to search for my fourth book that was put on Amazon at the end of May. I can’t find it searching on Amazon from Good Reads! And it won’t let me import it. It’s REALLY getting on my nerves. I don’t know if this is a Good Reads problem or a problem on Amazon. I don’t have any problems searching and finding in on the Amazon site. Just when I search Amazon through Good Reads. Grrrr!

Yay for Amazon!

Since Amazon decided to discount my book, my sales have at least tripled. Wow! Everybody wants a bargain, I guess. It put me at #768 in the Kindle store and #16, #18, and #19 in categories. I just want to run around in circles and shout. LOL

Hmmm. Amazon just discounted my book, Club Blood, down to .79. What’s up with that? Is this something Amazon does randomly? That’s the only one of my books that’s really selling well. Oh, well, if it boosts sales….

I finally got Starfane up on Amazon Kindle. I’ve written two novellas since I originally wrote Starfane and had them on Kindle already, but I wanted to get Starfane just right, so I waited on this one. This novel is dear to my heart for some reason. It’s a fantasy romance with all kinds of different creatures in it. My novella, Club Blood, is outselling my other books like crazy, but I think it’s simply the love of vampires that’s going on right now. But Starfane, in my opinion, is much better than anything else I’ve ever written. It doesn’t appear to be very deep in the first few chapters, but it gets more and more intense with every page. The characters are like old friends. I hope readers give this one a chance.
