Well, it’s time to jump back in the saddle and start treating writing like a job again. My plan for this week is Monday – reread what I’ve written so far on my WIP and take notes. Tuesday – outline a little (I’m a pantser, but this story is so complicated, it needs a little outlining). Thursday-Saturday – write!
Do you all ever plan your week, or do you just fly by the seat of your pants and try to wedge in some writing time between everything else?
I totally fly by the seat of my pants. If I plan it, something always happens to screw up my plans.
Yes, like last night when hubby decided we needed to watch at least one show that was on the DVR. THEN he proceeded to fall asleep and missed the whole thing anyway. I was kinda ticked off about that. LOL. But I got my read through done anyway, just later than I had planned.
I make mental notes about what I want to accomplish but I’ve learned if I try to plan it out, the plans get changed. But as far as plans go, I hope you kick some backside.
That’s what I usually do. But I find I’m more disciplined if I make a firm plan. I just make sure I allow deviation from it if necessary and adjust. And, yes, I kicked it. 🙂
I’m a full-fledged planner….(please don’t throw tomatoes at me…lol) I can’t help it. I wrote one story without a plan…and things did work out, but planning works so much better for me. I need *guide-rails* ….hmmm. Sorta like training wheels? lol.
Glad VBS went so well! …and sitting ON the table?? I’ll bet you’ll be remembered as a cool, cool teacher! ;}
I won’t throw tomatoes. I admire anyone who can plot and plan. I’m not good at outlining plots, but I need to at least have a loose plot for this story since it’s so complicated.
I have a different view than most about things like kids sitting on the table. Don’t get me wrong, I can be stern when I need to. But I’ve found, if you give kids a little freedom, you don’t usually NEED to be stern. The kids are awesome, really good kids, and it’s natural for boys to be a little rowdy. I have to rein that in a bit, and that’s why they didn’t get to sit on the table the last night. LOL
I start off by making lists – lists are really fun, but I never to stick to them. 🙂
I need to make a list of things that need to happen. Then I can put the list in order later.
