Since I report the week’s word count on Sundays, I’m not going to list the last two days here. But I will say that I’m kicking word count butt. 🙂 My story is coming together.
I’m still working on proofing Vampires’ Curse for print.
Exercise is going well again. Anya and I walked during lunch the last two days, and as I reported on Sunday, I walked 45 minutes on the treadmill. Soon, I hope to be back to riding my bike. We’ve been having evening storms (we really need the rain!) so there’s been no outside activities after work.
I still need to work on my eating habits. I’m getting better, but I still need to tone down my portions a little more.
How is everyone else doing?
Plugging away, Lauralynn. :} Great on the walking. I know the rain cooled it down here in Northeastern PA, and I’m grateful! Really Grateful. Ha!
Keep up the great writing…I’m off to do the same. Pushing hard to finish up while hubby and boys are away. It’s so quiet! :}
It’s been a good week. 🙂 And so much cooler!
It’s so much easier when you’re alone, isn’t it?
Good job on the walking (writing too). The rain’s been keeping us from our evening walks with the pups too. And I feel like I”m constantly fighting the war to keep myself within my calorie budget. I keep wanting to Eat All THE THINGS between the a) hot and I want ice cream and such and b) stress eating over work (which I notice I do more of when I don’t get enough sleep, which is…always?). I have not, btw, decided whether I love or hate you for introducing me to igourmet. I keep drooling over stuff.
We just started getting rain night before last. It’s been drizzly all day, which is good. We are so dry that a quick downpour doesn’t help. We need all day rain.
I stopped counting calories because it was making me crazy. That’s when I decided I was just going to eat sensible portions and try to leave food on my plate at restaurants. Some days are better than others. It’s a matter of learning the habit. I’ve not been sleeping well, either, and that’s when I feel hungrier. I keep forgetting to take melatonin when I’m gong through these phases. I know your problem is the heat, so I don’t know if that would even help in your case.
You know you love me. LOL. I go to igourmet’s website often. I’m about ready to buy from them again. I REALLY want to try the scone mix and the lemon curd. 🙂 And, of course, more cheese.
We literally sleep with ice packs. 😀
Congratulations on hitting your goals, dear! It’s amazing what a little positive energy can do, huh?
I was really good at managing my portions until last week. The 4th made me realize how much I miss stuffing my face… and I’ve been trying to cut back since then. Orz.
Thanks, Dahnya!
I find that if I allow myself to stuff my face a couple of meals a week, I can handle the portions better at other meals. 🙂
sounds like you’re doing great! good luck on the rest of the week!
Thanks, Fallon. I’m trying to stay focused on things. 🙂
Congrats on meeting your goals! I struggle with portion sizes too. It’s a hard habit to build, but for me, it’s MUCH more manageable than calorie counting.
Thanks, Sadie!
I’m really trying with the portion sizes. It’s going to take my body awhile to get used to less food, but once the habit is formed, it will be easier.
Glad to hear the word counts are up. 😀 Mine were last week, but then I got burned out and have been going to the pool and reading for pleasure. However, I did manage to go on a couple walks this week.
I’m glad you’re getting some rain. At least you got some walking in, and watching the portions is easier said than done. I still struggle with the portion thing. *sighs*
Ruth, I’m really rolling right now, and now I’m scared the momentum will stop. Well, not scared…just a little nervous. LOL. But I’ll take what I can get right now. Some books are easier to write than others. Some days and weeks are easier than others.
Sometimes you do get burned out. And you’re so prolific, it has to take its toll from time to time. You need a vacation from it sometimes. I’m glad you got some walks in. Now just bump it up to a few more. And pare down those portion sizes gradually. Don’t try to do everything at once.
Good point on making the changes gradually. Otherwise the changes aren’t natural.
I also know what you mean about being nervous. Sometimes the writing goes so well you think, “I just know I’m coming up to the dry spell.” I hate the dry spells, but you’re right. I do get burned out the more I push myself. Yesterday, I went to the pool and read for pleasure. I hadn’t done that in a long time and it felt good.
I am moving along…trying to get through the hot days…making some progress. Yours sounds great!
Here’s MY ROW 80 CHECK-IN POST
It’s been SO hot! We’re getting relief this week…rain and cooler temperatures. I’m glad you’re making progress! 🙂
Glad you’re kicking word count butt!! Sounds like you are having a productive weeks so far. Good luck with the exercise and eating goals. I think we all know how hard it can be to stay on top of those. iGourmet?! *goes to look*
Writing, exercise, eating…it’s all about getting into good habits, I think. I hope I’ll continue to develop those good habits.
Everyone is going to kill me if I get them hooked on igourmet. LOL
