I can’t believe it’s actually that time again! I really meant to finish my WIP in Round 2, but those of you who’ve followed my blog know that I was a slacker. I bounced back the last couple of weeks of the round, but it was way too late. Anyway, here are my goals for Round 3.
1. Finish my WIP by writing one hour per day, five days a week (Sundays and Wednesdays are church days, so I intend to take those days off unless I’m itching to write).
2. Proof Vampires’ Curse a second time, then format it for print.
3. Exercise five days a week.
Some writers have said they only want to post writing goals on their blog, and they won’t talk about anything else, but I’m a firm believer in putting all of myself out there and connecting with people. I also believe that exercise goals HELP with writing goals.
Good luck to everyone this round, and if there’s anything I can ever do to help, please let me know! We are all about support here at ROW80!
Lauralynn, I have exercise and friends and family in my goals this Round. I need balance to avoid becoming even more of a curmudgeon!
As for encouragement, thanks for the offer. I will sing out–everyone’s willingness to be supportive is the best thing about this group.
So many people had trouble with Round 2, including me. Here’s to all of us having a great Round 3!
And we can’t have you being more of a curmudgeon. LOL
I love encouraging people. That’s one thing I think I’m pretty good at. Because I do love people. And puppies. And kitties. And…. š
Yes…a better round for all of us!
Being held accountable for everything is the way I do it as well. It helps me feel like ROW80 is more than writing… it’s about being a writer and balancing the lifestyle that comes with it.
Good luck to you this round, dear! (And stop being down on yourself! Even a little success is better than not trying at all!)
Thanks, Dahnya! š Good luck to you, too.
Short and sweet! Nice! Hope you kick ROW’s butt š
I plan on kicking some butt this round! Lol
I love how you totally admit to slacking. Me, too. Time to get back on track! Welcome to Round 3. š
(Which means it is JULY!! What?!?)
Sometimes I’m just too honest. LOL. Hey, it’s a new round with so many possibilities!
Exercise absolutely helps with writing goals. Not sure who those “other writers” are but we, writers, are not just one-dimensional people. Support is best when we understand the whole picture rather than only seeing one side of the page. I think you have great well-rounded goals and wish you all the best for the round. I know you are going to do fantastic, Lauralynn š
Exercise is key to mental alertness as well as physical health. We need that. I’ve had writers tell me that they want to keep everything on their blog dedicated just to writing. That’s fine for them, but I’m more than my writing. If I feel like writing about my kittens, I’m going to do it. I’m not saying the writers are wrong if they feel that way…I just think they are missing out on some good communication with others. š
I think this is going to be a good round for me, and I hope for everyone else, too!
Good luck in achieving your goals!!!!!!!! š
Thanks, Juli! You, too!
Sounds good to me! Have a great round!
Thanks, Julia!
I’m not in this Round but you know from past Rounds I have a bit of everything in my goals, LOL. It’s not so much about putting it all out there but the balance and accountability. Wishing you luck this Round Lauralynn!
Hi Raelyn. Sorry you’re not joining us this round. I wouldn’t say I want to put it ALL out there…LOL. You’re right about balance. There are several things to consider when it comes to goals, and they aren’t all directly related to writing. But it all comes together. š
Great goals, Lauralynn!! As for last round, it’s all forgotten š A very nice friend of mine taunted me that I only checked in something like 8 times last round. Sometimes you just can’t fit it all in! Hope you have a wonderful Round 3.
Thanks, Lauren! You’re right…we should put the past behind us. I don’t know what happened last round, life I guess, but I’m ready to move on.
I see you doing your sprints on Twitter sometimes and I’m often tempted to join in even though I’m at work. LOL
Is this WIP your Christian romance? I don’t remember if you started another book.
Good luck on this round!
No, this one is another vampire story. I sort of put the Christian romance on hold, trying to figure out how I’m going to work it in my schedule. I was going to work on it during lunch, but I ended up doing other things at lunch…like right now I’m walking during lunch and I really need that. So I don’t know what I’m going to do with it at this point.
