Writing is going a little better. I wrote over 800 words on Monday. Last night, I didn’t write because I was busy putting Pampered Chef orders in bags. I couldn’t believe how long that took! And I was also trying to watch two kittens so I could keep them out of trouble. They kept knocking over my digital picture frame and climbing into my basket of clean clothes. *sigh*
I’ve been working on formatting a print version of a compilation of three novellas I wrote some time ago. The novellas included in this version are Club Blood, See Me, and Guardian Vampire. Since two of the stories are about vampires and one is about a ghost, I jokingly said I should call it “Loving the Dead and the Undead”. I got so many comments from people saying they really LIKED the title. So I kept it. And the title looks good on the cover. 🙂 This book is ready to submit, but I have a dilemma. I’m getting ready to go on vacation next week, so if I submit it now, the proof copy will come while I’m gone. (CreateSpace is QUICK about sending the proof.) So I’m thinking about submitting it while I’m on vacation and trying to time it so it will be there as soon as I get back or maybe a day or two before. I don’t know. I can’t decide. Anyway, I thought I would go ahead and let you guys see the cover and tell me what you think. The final pdf file has the novellas in a different order, but it was easier to post the original jpg file here. In the the final copy, See Me will come before Guardian Vampire.
I love that cover! Just the right touch of smoke and haze to add an eerie yet still sexy vibe. And that had stretched out in delicious welcome….Woo-hoo!
It’s one of my favorite covers. My husband still can’t see that he’s beckoning. He keeps saying “What’s he got in his hand?” LOL. And you know that’s Jimmy, right?
Well, maybe it’s just a guy thing… I imagined that I saw a large snifter of brandy or some such.
“He has inside jokes with complete strangers.” – Love those commercials.
Also, on a personal note: Yay, Moon. ❤ the moon in this cover (especially on the reverse mirror with the blurb on top).
LOL, Matt. A large snifter of brandy, huh?
Cool moon, right? 🙂
Looks great, Anya did another good job, as always, with the cover. Look forward to holding a copy in my hand. I still think you should do more with the characters in Club Blood, so much more stories there, but I’ll enjoy what you have here. Have fun on vacation, you deserve a little time off. Peace.
I think Anya did an excellent job. She keeps getting better, I think. And, of course, the yummy Jimmy Thomas is the cover model once again.
I think I’ve moved way past the Club Blood characters. If I do any revisiting of characters, it will probably be Daniel from Haunted Lake. That’s still my favorite of all my books.
I definitely need a vacation.
Nice!! I think the man looks a bit like a cross between Mick St. John and the Alpha from TeenWolf. Very sexy…
He’s definitely hot, especially in this picture. Yum!
Ooh, pretty cover! If I do say so myself. 😉 Can’t wait to send it to Jimmy. Be sure we get a print cover to mail to him. He likes to have the print versions. This will help put him on even more covers than the over 3000 he’s already on!
And you did say so yourself. LOL. So he actually wants a print book? Does he like them signed?
I’m sure he wouldn’t mind if you signed it. 🙂 I know he lists on his Facebook page the pics of the print books that he has. I’ll mail it to him if you want me to.
Choosing the right cover is so important and I’m going through my first experience of all that now. But I think you have a great cover here. Have a great time away. X

I agree about having the right cover. And I actually think that some of the covers I’ve seen from indie authors have looked better than a lot I’ve seen from traditional publishers. My cover artist is great.
Thanks, I plan on having a great vacation. 🙂
The title is great and I love the cover. I’d go on a date with him!!
Jimmy Thomas is one of the sexiest cover models ever. He has his own site where he sells his images. He’s really nice, too. 🙂
And now I’m googling Jimmy Thomas 🙂

Wow! That is such an AWESOME cover! It makes me want to read the stories again! That is just gorgeous.
Have a great vacation! 😀
Thanks, Ruth! Doesn’t Jimmy look great? And Anya got the atmosphere just right.
I plan on having a great time!
That’s a great cover! I really like the artistry of it.
Also? I’m not allowed to see Pampered Chef stuff. I spend too much money on things I never use. *sigh*
Glad your writing is going well!
I think my cover artist did a great job on this. I can’t wait to see the proof copy!
I got $140 in free stuff, 3 items at 50% off, and 1 item at 60% off. Plus, my host discount. So I got LOTS of good Pampered Chef stuff. And I actually use it. LOL
Awesome cover! Nice job on keeping on on word counts… writing every day can be tough, but even if you just get 50 words written you’ll feel much better about it. If you can’t dedicate time to the computer, just jot stuff down on paper. I promise, it makes a huge difference in the end.
Keep up the great work and enjoy that vacation!
Thanks, Dahnya! Writing every day IS tough, especially with a full time job that can sometimes drain my energy. I’m hoping this vacation will energize me. 🙂
I love the cover!! Beautiful work. 🙂
Good luck finishing that project up and making progress on other things. So many irons in the fire!
Thanks, J.R. Anya does do beautiful work.
I’m hoping vacation will allow me to chill a little so that I won’t feel so overwhelmed.
Gorgeous cover, Lauralynn! That’s my favorite one of yours. Love the model too! -fans self-
Thanks, Valerie! There’s just something about the way he looks, dark and mysterious in the swirling mist….
