I’m still about 2000 words behind, but I got in a little more than my 500 last night. I figure if I write a little more than my 500 goal words each day, I’ll eventually catch up. LOL That is if I DON’T skip any more days!

On the bright side, I finally used my birthday and Christmas money and got a Wii and a Wii Fit board. I had a lot of fun playing with it last night before I wrote. I’ve found if I do some exercise before I write, my mind is much more alert. Btw…what does it say about me that I seem to be best at boxing and sword fighting???

Massive Fail

I’m now 1667 behind on my word count. Isn’t it kind of ironic that it’s the exact number of words you’re supposed to write per day in NaNoWriMo? Weird, huh?

I only wrote about every other day this past week. But I’m not the kind of person that freaks out over this sort of thing. As long as something is repairable, I’m good. And I know I can make up the word count with no problem. I mean, it kind of makes me mad at myself for letting it happen, but…not that mad. LOL

As most of you know, I was out of town for three days and was out late every night. So I didn’t do any writing those three days. And I chose not to write on Friday because I was in the mood to play a computer game and knew I would be restless if I wrote instead of played. However, I’m only 388 words behind my culmulative goal, so I’m not worrying about it. I can make that up in a couple of days and I’ll be back on track. Have I mentioned that this is WAY better than doing NaNoWriMo? Sure I have. LOL

I don’t have a lot to report. I didn’t write anything Thursday because, well, I just didn’t want to. I went out of town on Friday, but I did get most of my words in Friday night in the hotel room. I didn’t get to write yesterday because I was working a booth for the company I work for in Hickory, NC all day, then we were on the road until 10:30. I was so sleepy, I couldn’t hold my eyes open. I expect to get my words in tonight. I’m still 1,071 words ahead, so I’m okay.

That’s all folks!

It seems like this past week has been a combination of “I can’t wait to get this scene that’s in my head written in my book!” and “Do I really have to write today?” On one of the days with the former attitude, I wrote about 1200 words. On the latter…I have to push to get the 500, usually ending up with a little over 600 if I’m lucky. But, as of now, I think I’m a little over 2,000 words over my cumulative goal. I don’t have an exact figure because I’m at work right now, but I know I’m ahead enough to feel comfortable about it.

I think the challenge is going to be getting the scary scenes scary enough. If I can’t, this may end up being a paranormal romance or thriller rather than horror. And I can live with that.

I’m not feeling very “wordy” today, so I’ll just be brief. I took off from writing on Thurs. (can’t even remember why, but there was something) and yesterday (because it was my birthday). But I’m still ahead on my cumultive word count by 708 words because I usually writing more than my goal of 500 per day. I don’t take any days off unless I’m ahead enough on my word count to make up for it.

I haven’t written anything today, but I had a brainstorm about a scene while I was getting ready for church this morning. So I expect to write more than 500 today.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

I’m finally getting around to posting my check in after battling a migraine, then working on an editing job I have right now. So I haven’t had time to write my 500 words yet tonight. But I’m going to.

As of yesterday, though, I’m 1,685 words over my culmultive goal. Hey, I can take three days off! LOL. But, of course, I won’t. It’s nice to have that cushion, though, in case something goes wrong. And I probably won’t write anything Saturday because it’s my birthday. 🙂 So, yeah, I’m on track.

I hope everyone else is doing great!

I’m still doing fine. My goal is 500 words per day, which for me isn’t necessarily that I have to write that many a day, but that I average that. I took a day off on Friday because I was 996 words ahead of goal, and I got in late that night. Then on Saturday I wrote 1187 words, so I’m back to 1183 words ahead of goal. I haven’t done my writing for today, but I see no problems with that. I think I know what’s going to happen next.

Oh how I wish I didn’t work a full time job!

I had two goals for ROW80. One of them was to get Haunted Lake edited. Well, I kind of cheated on that one because I had two whole days off from work, so I edited during that time, before ROW80. After finding a few typos, a couple of discrepancies, and one really obvious contradiction (my beta readers didn’t even catch it, lol), I think I have it finished. I’m one of those writers that edits chapter by chapter as I write so that I don’t have as much to edit later. So that goal is accomplished…even if I cheated by starting early. But I saw no reason to waste those two days. And, unlike NaNo, you don’t get slapped on the hand for this.

Also, I’m ahead on word count by a little over 500. My goal was 500 words per day, and I wrote 991 the first day. On the second day, I struggled to get word count in (but I did it) because I’m not loving this story yet. But I felt the same way about Guardian Vampire and it ended up being the best thing I had written. So I’m not giving up on this baby.

Day 10

Well, I let myself get behind on my word count. I’m not a whole day behind, but now I’m going to have to write more to catch up. Last night I just didn’t want to do it. It was all I could do to make myself write. I was only able to make myself write about 2/3 of what I needed to write. And tonight? Well, I just finished the chapter I started last night. Which was, basically, the other 1/3 of what I should have written last night. Grrrr. I didn’t want to write.

I think part of the problem is that I’ve been getting really sleepy. I need to start earlier in the evening. Or maybe I should try to get more sleep, so I’ll be more alert. Also, my story is kicking my butt right now. I’m much better at writing novellas than I am at writing novels, even though I’ve written two. Sometimes I just want everything to hurry up and happen in a story. I hope I have 50,000 words in me for this novel. We’ll see.
