I hope everyone had a nice 4th of July holiday. If you’re not in the US, I hope you still are having a great weekend! I had a lot going on the last few days, especially since my boss decided to close on Friday (unpaid day off) instead of just Thursday. We were able to fill those days with food, family, and fun.
I missed my three days a week writing goal, only writing two days. But my word count was 2831, so that wasn’t too shabby. I would really like to hit over 3000 a week, but I’ll take what I got. It’s been a busy week. 🙂
I haven’t walked on the treadmill for the past two days. I have a problem with my foot sometimes where a sharp pain will shoot through the top of it when I’m walking, and it’s so bad, I almost fall. This is a problem that usually lasts two or three days. The odd thing is that this time, it’s the other foot. I didn’t go to the gym, either. I have no excuse except that the gym is about 20-25 minutes away. I live out in the boonies. The reason I use that gym is it’s conveniently close to where I work, but I haven’t worked the past few days. I’ll get back on track tomorrow. Hopefully, my foot will be well enough to walk on the treadmill today.
How did the rest of you do last week?
That might be an issue with your shoes. It might be time to replace them or to pick up some really good inserts, like Superfeet.
I actually think it is, but not the shoes I walk in. It seems to bother me more when I’m at home wearing my flip flops around the house, which I’ve done for a few days. I walk on the treadmill wearing my Chacos, which are awesome. I think maybe I need to wear them around the house also. The best arch support ever. I get lazy and wear the flip flops because they’re easy to slip on and off.
Awesome word count, esp. for two days!
Flip flops do a number on my feet too. It’s hard to do much when feet are acting up. I hope your feet feel better soon.
I’m glad you had a great time celebrating the fourth!
Thanks, Ruth.
Flip flops are about like going barefoot. I know many people advocate running, walking that way, saying it’s more natural. But I think we’ve worn shoes for so long that it’s not practical anymore. And I’m flat-footed so I need arch support.
I love your word count for two days! Keep it up in the coming week! I’m going to take inspiration from you as I get back into the word count groove myself. 🙂
Thanks, J.R. I hope I’ll hit the 3000 word mark next week.
Awesome word count! And I know all about that foot pain, though mine doesn’t seem as bad as yours, as it’s just sort of more an inconvenience for me.
Thanks, Chris.
Yeah, that foot thing flares up from time to time. I need to keep wearing my Chacos.
I’m glad you got the extra time off and a lovely fat work count. May your feet sort themselves out quickly and easily. 🙂
Thanks, Cate. I hope to have more words and better feet this week. 🙂
Food and hanging out with the family sounds lovely.
It was a great time, Emma.
That’s a great word count for two days! Great job.
Thanks, Fallon. 🙂
Progress! Summer Enjoyment!
…all good things, Lauralynn. Glad you had a happy 4th. 🙂 I need to write this evening – but the heat has been counter-productive…lol. All I can think of is ice cream, Popsicle, swimming, and staying cool. Tonight is the night I ‘Buckle-Down’…er, I think.
Summer always has its own set of challenges. We often want to do other things rather than sit at a computer and write. So let’s both buckle down tonight. 🙂
Sounds like you foot needs a break anyway Lauralynn. I’d also check out new trainers and foot supports before getting back on a treadmill. Great to hear you’re enjoying family time AND boosting that word count. Go you! X

Hi Shah. This foot think has been a recurring problem for awhile, and it seems to flare up more when I run around the house in flip flops instead of wearing my Chacos. It’s all better now, so I’m back to treadmilling. 🙂
Thanks, I need to work on upping that word count, but I’m still happy that I’m even writing after taking some time off.
