I’m not really a selfish person. Most of the time I do things that will help other people rather than myself. I’m not tooting my own horn or anything, that’s just my basic personality. I like to help. It makes me smile. But the following is a completely selfish thing. Here it is:
The Gnome would be a really great read for Halloween. Buy it! Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords.
Whew, that felt weird! But I’m not going to apologize. In fact, I’m giggling a little right now. Um, not evilly like the gnome did…just because this was funny. π
Yes, yes it would be a great read for Halloween. And it’s not selfish, it’s called marketing! π
I know, it’s marketing. I’m just not very good at it. LOL
I just bought it, Lauralynn. I was surprised I hadn’t already! And Anya is right–it’s marketing.
Thank you so much, Elizabeth! Maybe I’ll feel more comfortable about marketing someday.
You shouldn’t feel selfish promoting your work, especially not on your own blog!
I’m going to chime in and say Lauralynn has quite a knack for giving me the heebie-jeebies, and the Gnome is a very good example! Great creepy Halloween read, folks! Pick it up!
Thanks, J.R.! See, you guys are on here marketing for me. π
I added The Gnome to a tweet π I used to think of my one garden gnome as garden or Christmas decor, but now maybe it should go in the Halloween displays!
Thanks, Michelle! I’ve always thought garden gnomes were creepy. The idea actually came about because I was at the IGC show, and there were some garden gnomes there. I told the person I was with how creepy they were. Then I thought, “Hmmm, a book!”
If you can’t blog about your own novel, who can? Very good novel, and yes it would make a very nice Halloween read. I should go and see if my review is on Amazon and other sites.
That’s true, Hubbard. It is MY blog, right? π I think your reviews are there.
This is not a selfish post. You have to promote yourself and get your books out there in front of an audience, Lauralynn.
I really enjoyed The Gnome. I’m telling you, I dreamed of a giggling little gnome the night I finished this book. That is a job well done!!
Thanks, Emma! I guess it’s a good thing when one’s book stays with the reader for awhile.:). Sorry I gave you weird dreams. LOL
No worries π and it is good when a story stays with the reader.
Hehe No problems in bringing up your own book on your blog. It fits perfectly with Halloween. π It was a great read! Every time I see a garden ornaments, I think of your book.
That’s right, it IS my blog, isn’t it? I’m seriously thinking about rereading it myself. I’ve always thought garden gnomes were creepy. I don’t know what possessed me to add the dragonfly. LOL
