Now that Soul of a Vampire is up on Smashwords, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble, it’s time to announce what I’m giving away to celebrate the release. At first, I was going to just give away swag, which is basically items with the book cover images or some other promo type items. I’m still going to send bookmarks to the winner, but I wanted to find something special. I searched and searched for the perfect thing I was looking for, and I finally found it. Everyone who comments on this post and tells me their favorite gem through October 23 will have their name entered into the drawing, which will be done by using random.org. The winner will receive a Smashwords coupon code for a free copy of Soul of a Vampire, some bookmarks with the cover picture, and……THIS:
This picture doesn’t do this necklace and earring set justice..it’s much prettier when you actually see it. There is a garnet jewelry set (sorry, there was no bracelet with the one I bought) in Soul of a Vampire. I know these aren’t real garnets, or I wouldn’t have been able to afford the necklace, but they LOOK like garnets. LOL. Anyway, good luck everyone. Please tell your friends how they can win this necklace and earring set. Remember, the only thing you have to do is comment and tell me your favorite gem. There is no obligation to review the book or Tweet or mention on Facebook or…. See, I’m easy to get along with.
Lovely! Loved your cover, too. What a great idea for a giveaway.
Thanks, Sharon. That necklace just fits the necklace in the story. 🙂
Ooh. Pretty! 😉 My favorite gem is emerald! Love green! But of course don’t enter me in the contest. I know where you got this. I can go buy one if I want to. 😉
Ha ha, Anya. That place has some awesome jewelry, doesn’t it? I love emeralds, too, but my favorite is still garnet. 🙂
How exciting, Lauralynn! Congratulations on getting Soul out! *throws confetti*
My favorite gem–that’s a hard one! My birthstone is a diamond, so birthstone rings are out! I love the deep-hued gems: rubies, emeralds, sapphires. The garnet necklace and earrings are absolutely gorgeous. You’ve come up with a wonderful prize. 🙂
Thanks, Elizabeth! I’m like you, I like the deep colors. Garnet is actually a deeper red than ruby, so that’s why I like it better. But I like all the colored gems. Oh to be able to afford the real ones someday…. LOL
That set is beautiful.
My favourite gem is emerald, my birthstone. It makes me think of the Wizard of Oz and the film Return to Oz.
Thanks, Emma, I was hoping everyone would like it. It’s certainly not “delicate”. LOL. Ah, the Emerald City. I love the Wizard of Oz.
Awesome giveaway, Lauralynn! My favorite is probably sapphire. I love garnets, though. 🙂
Sapphires are definitely nice. I knew you liked garnets. 😉

Isn’t Ruth sweet to promote me like this? 🙂
My favorite gem is the ruby, my birthstone, and a sign of power.
I like rubies, too, Renee. Red is my favorite color, although I like the darker red of the garnet better. And it’s my birthstone. 🙂 I didn’t know ruby was a sign of power. Do all gems have something unique like that?
Congratulations on the release of Soul of a Vampire. I can’t wait to read this. Sounds very interesting and different, which is what I need. I read so many books that the stories all seem the same so lately I have been on a hunt for something different.
My favorite gem is garnet and rubies. I love red and I absolutely LOVE this set your giving away.
Congrats again and I look forward to reading more from you.
Thanks, Dawn. I hope you find this book different from what you’ve been reading lately. There’s romance AND adventure. And a little darkness.
My favorite is red, too. That’s why I love garnets so much.
Thanks for reading!
Nice set..
My favourite gem is Sapphire.
Thanks, Anusha. I like sapphires, too. I love all colored gems. 🙂
That set is gorgeous. My favorite gem is pearl.
I like light blue. Thank a lot for sharing your blog and
great great giveaway.
I like pearls, too. My husband bought me a really nice string of pearls several years ago. 🙂
You’re welcome. I love doing giveaways.
Congrats on the release, Lauralynn! Anya did a wonderful job on the Jimmy cover! I can’t wait to read it! 🙂
My birthstone is Pearls and try are my favorite because they are classy, elegant, and can be worn with anything. I love dressing up jeans and a shirt with a string of pearls.
Other than that, I like Sapphires the most. Gorgeous color.
Thank you for the wonderful giveaway! I have my fingers and toes crossed because Anya pointed out this would be a lovely set for dress up at the Arizona Dreamin’ event!

Thanks, Kristina! Anya does such a good job for me. I’m really picky, but she’s so patient and makes sure she gets everything the way I want it. 🙂
Pearls are definitely very elegant. I have a nice string that my husband bought me. And I like all the colored gems.
I saw that Anya mentioned how good those would look at AD. They are very dressy. I wish the picture could do them justice. I couldn’t get the lighting the way I wanted it. LOL
My favorite gem is blue topaz.
That’s a pretty stone. I like both the blue and the yellow topaz.
Can’t wait to read Soul of a Vampire. My favorite gem is rubies.
I hope you enjoy it! 🙂 It seems a lot of people like rubies. I love all red stones.
That is a gorgeous set! Don’t think it would go with my eyes, or my beard, but beautiful none the less. And here I thought it would be the jar from the cover, way off!
I look forward to reading this LL, and I hope your next endeavour becomes something magical working with the hubby.
I can’t say I have a favourite gem. My birthstone is diamond, but I always tend to, or used to tend to, buy emeralds when shopping for ‘that special’ someone. And green is my favourite colour, espacially a deep dark green, an electric absinthe colour. Pretty.
Okay, this is really scary Hubbard. I DID buy the jar from the cover, and that was going to be the giveaway. But someone thought that was lame. So I went with the necklace. I still have the jar, and it looks a LOT like the one on the cover.
You just like green because of the absinthe. LOL
beatiful.. would love to win
Beautiful.. Would love to win.. Can’t wait to read the book
Good luck, Alison. Only one entry, though. 🙂 Do you have a favorite gem?
My favorite gem is emeralds! Thank you!
Emeralds seem to be popular. 🙂

The set is beautiful! My favorite gem is the diamond!!!
Hi, Patsy! When I saw that necklace in the store, I knew that was the one I had to give away. 🙂 Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, right?
Hi Lauralynn,
Thank-you for sharing your gift with this give away ( I found your name on another Authors site that I follow and think it is wonderful that you all support each other 🙂 My favourite Gem is Sapphire always wanted my eyes to be the exact colour – lol I look forward to reading your books
Catherine
Hello, Catherine, welcome to my blog. 🙂 I love doing giveaways. It’s so much fun for me. You’re right about authors supporting each other. I have found a lot of support in the independent author community.
Wouldn’t that be great to have eyes the color of sapphires?
Congratulations on your new book and thanks for sharing this giveaway. My favorite gem is sapphire though my birtstone is peridot. I just love the color of this gem. It looks so classy and sophisticated.
Thanks! It seems several people like sapphires. The peridot is a green gem, isn’t it?
Yes, it is the green one. I don’t like it. 🙂 Perhaps my favorite color is blue so I am partial to sapphires 🙂
Saw your post on Ruth Nordin’s site and hurried right over. I put your book at the top of my “to read” list. I think the story line sounds very compelling. Happy book birthday! My step mom is a jewlery designer so I get to spend time drooling over her gemstones. I can’t afford the real thing either but I love blingy faux jewlery just fine. Its hard to pick a favorite gem but I’d have to say tanzanite always makes me smile. I love the lighter shades of it.
Thanks for stopping by, Shelley. Ruth Ann Nordin is such a sweetheart. I saw that she had promoted the giveaway on her blog, and it almost made me cry. 🙂
I appreciate you taking a chance on one of my books. I hope you like it. 🙂
I can’t afford the real gems, either, although garnets aren’t too awfully expensive. I love bling, too. I actually make jewelry, but I just couldn’t find the right elements I needed to make the necklace I wanted. Then I saw this one and knew it was the right now, so I bought it.
Tanzanite is a blue stone, right? And one form of it has that pretty pale blue?
That’s beautiful! Congratulations again!!! I’ll be sure to share this on my FB.
Favorite gem…hmmm…
I have a few favorites. I LOVE turquoise, though I’m not sure if that counts as a gem. Opals, though it’s hard to find new opals that are as pretty as the ones in older jewelry. As far as colored gems go, the deeper the color, the better. 🙂
Thanks, Juli. I appreciate the mention on FB. 🙂
I’m pretty sure turquoise would be considered a gem. And opals! I love opals in older jewelry. You’re right…I haven’t seen that kind of opal in awhile. Do you remember floating opals? My mom used to have one.
I hadn’t heard of a “floating opal” before, so I just looked it up. BEAUTIFUL!!!
[…] sure to visit Lauralynn’s blog for a giveaway of a beautiful necklace and earrings set that appear in the story. But hurry, the […]
Thanks for the mention, Anya!
If it has to be a real gem then rubies BUT I like the fake stuff better. It’s usually sparklier, has better colors and is cheaper 😉
Actually, you’re right…the fake stuff usually has more sparkle. And I like the “cheaper” part. LOL The necklace I’m giving away has more sparkle than the picture shows.
Fire opals are also pretty!
I had to look up fire opals. I can see where they get their name. Some of them I saw really looked like the color of fire.
Congratulations on the release of your book! Thanks for the wonderful giveaway! I love emeralds. 😀
Thanks, Surendene! Love those colored gems!

Thanks, Hubbard.
Favorite gem a amysthesist.
That is a pretty stone, Alicia. You’re the first one to mention that one. 🙂
My favorite gem is Aquamarie
A pretty blue! 🙂
Emerald!
Definitely a popular gem!
Can’t wait to see who wins!!!
Me, too, Anya!
Me, three! 🙂 *crosses fingers and toes*
