Last night I came here into my office to finish the third Libby Fox book. After writing 1193 words, I STILL have another scene left. This is a good thing, though. I was worried about how short it was going to be, but both times I tried to finish it, another scene leading up to the final one made its appearance. So it won’t be quite as short as I feared. After this, I’m done with series. I’m all about the new and shiny thing. I also want to concentrate on novels instead of novellas. More about that in Round One of next year.
Did all of you in the U.S. have a nice Thanksgiving? What did you do? Did any of you outside the U.S. have any kind of holiday? Or at least a good weekend?
Well done on the word count. 🙂 x
Thanks, Laura!
So exciting! Chug, chug, chug, chug…little train, going uphill, but the downhill stretch is coming…
I had a nice Thanksgiving. Drove a couple of hours to my father-in-law’s, all the siblings were there, and our nephew. We stayed overnight because the kids don’t like to drive that much and the folks need more time with the kids. These things sure are different once you introduce the next generation. 🙂
I’m done, J.R.! I got it finished last night.
I’m glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. I did, too. I enjoyed being with my boys.
Ooh, new and shiny!
I’m fearing my NaNo novel is going to be a short one. I’ve got two days to get 10,000 more words but can’t see how the book is ever going to be longer than 50K. I’ve never written a novella before!
The first time I did NaNo, instead of writing a 50,000 word novel, I wrote two 25,000 word novellas. LOL. The second time, I wrote a 50,000 word novel.
If your novel doesn’t make it past 50,000, then that’s the way it is. 50,000 is a fairly short novel, but it’s still considered a novel. Some people like to read shorter works. It’s a matter of preference.
My novellas are usually 25,000 words or a little longer. I’ve done six novellas and three novels. I really do want to concentrate on novels for awhile.
new and shiny sounds interesting – looking foward to hearing new goals there:)
all the best for this week
I love new and shiny, Alberta. I just have no idea at this point what that’s going to be. 🙂
