Okay, I’ve been really, really lazy since I finished Round Three early. I should have been writing down notes for my next Libby Fox novella. I should have been proofing Starfane for the print version. I should have been…. You get the picture. I’ve been LAZY! But this weekend has inspired me to get to work.
I spent Saturday with some wonderful people. I arrived at the home of Susan Bischoff in time to eat some wonderful taco soup with her and Kait Nolan. We had tons of fun, talking a little shop, laughing at Twilight spoofs on YouTube, and just enjoying each other’s company. Later in the afternoon, Andrew Mocete and his lovely wife arrived. We all went out to dinner and had a really good time. The only bad thing about the restaurant is that it was too loud to talk to everyone at the table, since the football game was on and there were a lot of fans there. We got to watch Tennessee lose to Florida. π¦ My biggest regret was that I had other obligations on Sunday and couldn’t join everyone then. But I felt really lucky to be able to at least spend my Saturday with such awesome people. It has definitely kicked my butt a little and made me want to get back to writing!
It’s good to know everyone’s stories about the weekend check with each other. ; )
I love how get-togethers and hashings like this always inspire so much new work and creativity! This is especially delectable when it happens after we’ve been feeling like we’ve been a little lazy. I can’t wait to see what you guys start coming up with after your powers combine.
Yeah, it would have been bad if one of us had said, “I can’t spend another minute with those people!” LOL. Everyone was great. I’ve met Kait before and Susan a couple of times, and always enjoyed myself. This was the first time I had met Andrew, so that was exciting. I wish I could just go around meeting all of you! π
Oh, Lauralynn, I love that idea! Hmm, road trip!!! Sorry about the game (I live five miles from the evil opponent, lol).
I have one dear writer friend who lives in the UK, so we don’t see each other very often. But when we do, we talk forever, and both return home with hundreds of great ideas. The synergy is wonderful!
Enjoy the rest of your week!
There are some authors in the UK and in Ireland that I would love to meet. I’m afraid I may never get to see them. π¦ I have a couple of author friends in California and one in Colorado that I would love to see. Those might be doable. People closer by would be a little easier. I just need to make a little more money so I can travel more! My book money is actually taking me to Disney World next month. π
Aww . . I still miss my in-person writing group. But I’m glad I have an online writer’s community. π
Sounds like everybody had a great time at the meet-up. In-person art and artists are uniquely inspiring . .
I only have one writer friend that’s really close by, and we don’t see each other very much. So no close writer’s group. π¦
We did have a wonderful time. These people are so awesome.
It was so awesome to meet you. I wish we had more time to chat, but there’s always the next Fandrew Con!
I loved meeting you, too, Andrew. I felt like the time went by way too fast! Especially since the restaurant was so loud that we could only talk to the people sitting close to us. We didn’t think about the ballgame being on and all the Tennessee fans being there. LOL
I am definitely looking forward to the next Fandrew Con!
Sounds like a fun evening. A bit of a Round 3 celebration party even! π
Hope you’ll be around in Round 4, and congrats on wrapping up Round 3 early.
Definitely a fun evening! π
I will definitely be here in Round 4. This challenge has helped me a lot! (It has definitely put money in my pocket because it makes me write and publish things!)
Sooo jealous that you guys live close enough to hang out! And you finished ROW80 early? Woo!
Yeah, hanging out with three awesome authors was great! I had a blast.
Yep, I finished early, but it’s made me kind of lazy. LOL
