Since I decided I was going back to walking, especially in light of the recent sunny weather, I knew I needed some new walking shoes. I’ve been a big fan of New Balance for years, but my friend decided to get some Shape Ups by Skechers. She loves hers. So I thought I would give them a try. I ended up actually getting Tone Ups instead of Shape Ups because the tongue of the shoe bothered me on the Shape Ups. Otherwise, they were really comfy. Anyway, these shoes are supposed to tone up your legs and butt. And I’m telling you…my muscles were definitely feeling it after about a 45 minute walk. And there was so much cushion in these shoes!
So, wasn’t that an exciting post? LOL. I’m just really psyched about getting back into exercise. Thanks, Kait, for inspiring me even more. Although I was going to start walking again, anyway, it helps to know I’m not alone. :0)
As far as eating goes…I’m still working on those portion sizes.
We are goddesses in training! I think one of my legs must be naturally a little longer than the other because I tried the tone ups and my hips just ACHED from wearing them (which is unfortunate as I liked the idea of them). Perhaps sometime I’ll try them, or something else like them again.
It was hard for me to give up my New Balance shoes, but the Skechers had so much more cushion. And I’m flat footed, so I have to be very picky about my shoes.
Yes, we’ll be awesome!
I don’t know what the weather’s like by you, but it’s just starting to get nice by me. That always wakes me up to wanting to take better care of myself. Good for you!
Andrew, we’ve had beautiful weather! But we’re supposed to be having bad storms this afternoon or this evening. I won’t get to walk tonight because of church, but I’m going to try for about 4 times a week if I can. And who knows…I might get on the treadmill tonight. I’ve been watching “Angel” on my portable DVD player while walking on the “dreadmill” since it’s so boring. LOL
Any excuse to watch some Whedon is a good one in my book.
That’s for sure. When I feel sleepy a little early, I go to the bedroom and watch Buffy. I’m actually watching both series right now. *snickers*
Those sound like interesting shoes. But I can’t say enough about Merrell’s. They make many different types of shoes, but they have special attributes for their women’s shoes. They researched the way women walk because of our pelvises. We tend to turn our feet inward and outward as we walk, giving us that famous sway. Regular shoes aren’t made to deal with this, which can cause things like lower back problems. Merrell’s support women’s feet in a way that counteracts the suponating and pronating with every step you take. I just got my first pair, not even knowing how much they would help me. Now I even sleep better because my feet are fully supported all day long. They’ve made a big difference in the lower back pain I’ve had for over thirty years. Anyway, since we’re talking shoes…
I’ve never heard of Merrell’s. Where do you get them?
I actually got mine from the Sportsman’s Guide online. Don’t let the name fool you, though, it’s not even mainly a sports store. They’ve got all sorts of excellent deals on things you wouldn’t believe. I’m sure Merrell’s probably has a site, too.
I’ll have to check that out.
