This past Saturday, I sat down and wrote over 3800 words! The story has been in my head for a while, and it just flowed when I started actually writing it. I was really happy because I’ve been unable to make myself write for a long time now. This isn’t going to be a Lauralynn story. It’s on my other pen name. But never fear. I also have one for Lauralynn floating around in my head. I might try to write both at once. I’ve so far been unsuccessful in writing more than one at a time, but that doesn’t mean I’ll stop trying!
I’ve also gotten involved in crocheting, which has been a joy for me. When I’m around yarn at Hobby Lobby or anywhere else, I’m like a kid in a candy shop. It’s a hobby that relaxes me, although I wish I had more time for it and everything else.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I will continue to be creative.
Yay! Are we allowed to KNOW your other pen name…or is it something that needs to stay COMPLETELY separated from THIS name. (I didn’t realize you wrote under other names. Just curious.) And…probably none of my business??? I don’t know the etiquette of pen names. My ignorance is showing. But if I wanted to read your other books…how would I do that if it’s under a secret name? Again. I KNOW. I’m showing my ignorance. They should probably teach classes in this stuff or something. Sigh!
I’ll tell you privately. LOL I’m keeping it separate for personal reasons, but I don’t mind my friends knowing. 🙂
Cool! Maybe you could FB message me when you get a chance. 😀
Wow! That’s an awesome start on writing. Congrats!
I’ve never been able to work on more than one story at a time. I have to finish one before I can start another, but I have several friends who are able to work on multiple stories at a time.
I never learned to crochet, but I love walking by all those colorful displays of yarn 🙂
Mae, I have a friend who can work on about four books at a time. It’s unbelievable. I’m envious. LOL.
I crocheted some when I was a teenager, but suddenly I decided to do it again. It’s been so much fun. I follow a YouTube video series called “Stitch of the Week” by Creative Grandma, and she goes through the tutorials VERY slowly. It’s great!
I’m sure I’m the friend who works on four books at a time. 🙂 My problem is that I can’t work on one book at a time. I end up running into a brick wall around the 1000-1500 word mark in the day, and then I need to go to something else. Also, there are times when a story stalls, and I need to take a couple of weeks from it to let my mind think over things for where I went wrong. So the other books help me keep my progress up.
You are definitely the friend I was referring to. 🙂 I’ve always been amazed at how you do that.
Sounds like fun, Lauralynn. And wow, that’s amazing about your friend!
Mary gets most of her yarn online (she knits and crochets). The only issue for her is not being able to match colors really well, but she always finds a use for it.
I’ve been looking at Red Heart because they have so many different kinds. I haven’t ordered from them yet. Do you know where she shops online?
I’m glad you’re writing again! I hope the muse continues to inspire you!!
I hope so, too! I’ve been itching to continue, but I have a friend who ended up in the hospital, and I’ve been there the last three nights. But I’m not giving up!
Glad to hear you’re writing again! I’m one of those who can’t seem to work on only one thing at a time. Though usually I have one in different stages. I’ve tried narrowing my focus, but it usually leaves me frustrated when my mind wants to bounce around. So, I tend to go with it.
Have fun with the crocheting. I knit and crochet, but I’ve put the yarn away until it cools off again.
I think maybe if I didn’t work full time, I would be able to work on more projects at once. I have to focus my mind on so many things right now. My mom (who’s been ill), my job, my editing business, AND my writing. The crocheting has been a relaxing outlet where I don’t have to think too hard.
Don’t worry, you will always be creative. It’s in your blood. 😉
I can’t believe I forgot to answer this! *smh* And thank you!
