I hope all of you had a Happy New Year and are raring to go for 2016!
My theme for this year is FOCUS. I’ve made a little acronym for this, detailing what I want to focus on.
Fitness
Organization
Consistency
Using time wisely
Spirituality
See what I did there? π
If you saw my last post, you know I have a brand spanking new Spark Planner. (I had pictures.) There’s a place to put your yearly goal, and my FOCUS acronym is what I’m putting there.
For this round, I want to finish my WIP for my Lauralynn name. I would like to start on my third mystery novella for my Catherine name, but I have a lot of editing jobs coming up, so we’ll see.
For the year, I would like to publish three novels/novellas. One for each pen name, and the other for whichever pen name calls to me. Again, we’ll see.
Fitness is going to be key this round and the rest of the year. That’s going to be my main focus. When I’m fit, I’m more productive in all areas of my life. I have more energy, more stamina.
All the words in my acronym will play important roles in my life going forward.
What are YOUR plans?
Happy New Year, Lauralynn.
You, too, Emma!
You write under THREE pen names? Wow, I had no clue. Other than Lauralynn Elliott, what are you other two pen names? Sounds like you are extremely prolific.
I love your “FOCUS” goal!!
I hope to concentrate on my writing and blogging more this year. I feel like a fell behind toward the end of 2015 and would really like to get back on track with both.
No, I actually write under two, and neither is my real name. LOL It was probably confusing because I said one novel/novella for each pen name. What I meant was one for each pen name, and the other for whichever pen name called to me. So I want to write two under one of the pen names. I probably didn’t make it clear. My other pen name is a little lighter, one I don’t mind sharing with my “real life” friends. It’s Catherine Lynn.

Just when I thought I was going to get to write more, I ended up with five editing jobs coming up. But I don’t mind. π I’ll fit it all in somehow.
Ahh, that makes sense now! π I had no clue about Catherine Lynn though, and have signed up to follow your other site. I’ll definitely have to check out your mysteries!
And five editing jobs? Wow, you are busy!! π
I really need to get fit. You’re right. It affects productivity so much. I need to get back to good eating, though since reading your posts, I have done a good job of sticking mostly with organic and more gluten-free meals. I just need to cut the sweets. Chocolate is my weakness.
I can’t have many sweets because I’m diabetic. That’s not what tempts me the most, anyway. Cheese? Can’t live without it! π
Right now I’m just trying to survive year end reports at the day job! Book cover designs are piling up so fast it’s hard to keep up. I need to get yours done. π And get this book out! (Which of course is one of your proofreading jobs soon. LOL)
Sounds like great goals on your part though. Hang in there and stick to it and you’ll get there. You know I”m here to bounce ideas off of if needed. And you know where to find me! heehe
I know you’re having a busy, stressful time at work, and I am, too, right now. We haven’t got to chat much. This, too, shall pass. Eventually. And I can’t wait to read your book!
I really want to stick to my 2016 plan. And I know exactly where to find you! π
Happy New Year, and may I say you look focused! And yes, something about hanging a new calendar in an old spot does invigorate one’s haeccity, or at least spark a tenacious drive. Best of luck to you on your goals, may they become tracks left behind you as you focus on.
Thanks, Chris! I always enjoy your comments. π
