I’m feeling accomplished today. Why? Because I spent ALL DAY yesterday working. I was editing for a client (actually finishing up one and working all day on the other), and I got things done. AND I finished edits on my second mystery novel (on another pen name) that has been sitting there waiting for me to finish that. It should have been done a long time ago, but I just didn’t have time. I just sent it to my mom, who is my last line of defense against errors. Somehow, she always catches little things my editor and I miss. Go figure. AND I wrote for about 20 minutes on the sequel to Soul of a Vampire. I love Saturdays where I don’t have to do anything but my work.
Also, I started the 21 Day Fix on Friday. The food part is hard because I don’t get as many carbs as I’m used to, and I have to eat nasty vegetables. Bleh. And I’m staying pretty hungry, but I’m sure I’ll get used to eating less. The exercise is kicking my butt. Friday was Total Body Cardio, and yesterday was Upper Fix. I don’t know how I’m going to do Lower Fix this evening since I can barely walk. I just took some ibuprofen for the pain. But I’m going to get through this 21 days, then I’ll be used to eating smaller portions.
So, yeah, I’m feeling pretty good about my accomplishments. 🙂 How are y’all doing?
It is so hard to eat right, isn’t it? I love me the processed foods and who has time to cook from scratch. Here’s food for thought though – when I was in Kenya for two weeks, I ate hardly any processed foods, everything was made from scratch, yes it included lots of carbs and starches, but few meats and lots of veges. It kept me from being hungry and I lost three pounds. I came home a week ago and have had a stomach ache ever since coz I keep filling myself up with processed food. Body’s telling me something.
Best wishes with your own Fix. Stick with it and you will see the change you need and want.
Thanks, Chris! I’ve actually lost two lbs. in two days. I know a lot of it is water weight at first, but I’ll take it! It’s SO hard, both the eating right and the exercise. I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to do the leg work tonight since I can barely walk from the total body cardio from two days ago. LOL
Wow, you’re doing amazing things! both with writing and for your health. You’re inspiring me to try the 21 Day Fix (I’ve looked at it before). I’m leving at the end of the week for a Caribbean vacation, but when I get back, I need to focus on exercise and diet!
Thanks, Mae! It’s hard, but I figure I can do it for 21 days. After that, I’ll have some better eating habits. I won’t have to be so rigid, but I’ll be more aware of what I’m eating. And I want to continue the exercise.
I hope you have a great time on your vacation!
Awesome!! I give anyone credit who can do any challenge like that. Keep up the good work and have a stellar week, Laurelynn!
Thank you, Cindy!
Sounds like a super day! I wish they were all that way. I know those edits were a pain in the you-know-what. At least you’re done with those and can move on. I don’t envy all the work you had to go through, but I’m so grateful you did it.
Awesome on the food and exercise! 😀
It was a very productive day! I’m glad to be done with the edits, but I loved both stories. Of course, I’m always glad to be done with edits so I can move to the next book to edit. 🙂
If I can get through this 21 days, I BETTER have lost at least 6-7 lbs.! And I better be toned. LOL
What a great week for you! I’d offer to eat your veggies for you (I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!), but I don’t think that would help you much…
I’m doing well – I feel like, somewhere in the next few days, I’ll tip the balance, and things will start gaining major momentum. Lots in progress, and I’ve done some pre-NaNo, pre-travel tweaking.
I hope you got through the workout, and are feeling well and happy! =)
Thanks, Shan. I envy people who like veggies. I would have much less trouble sticking to a healthy food plan if I did.
Good luck to you! I know you’re always busy and productive.
