I’m in New Orleans on a business trip this week. This picture is the view standing in the doorway of the French doors of my hotel room. Win! I wanted to go out there to write, but it’s SO cold.
I still got almost 2000 words in this morning, so I’m right on track to get my project for my other pen name done by or before my deadline. When that’s wrapped up, I’m going on to finish my mystery, which I’ve decided to publish under the new pen name, so I’ll have at least two books for that name. Then, I’m still planning on a Lauralynn book this year. I think all my projects are still on track.
I’m going on a ghost tour tonight after our welcome reception. I did that last year in San Antonio, so NOLA should be even better, given the history of Voodoo and such in this area. I need to bundle up, though. The temps will be in the 40’s by then.
Happy writing to everyone!
Fab view. Enjoy New Orleans and the spooky ghost tour. I’m totally jealous.
I can’t wait for tonight. I think a bunch of us are going.
A ghost tour in New Orleans would be awesome. Hope you enjoy it.
I’ve never written a mystery before, but it sounds like fun. Good luck!
NOLA has got to be the best place for a ghost tour!
Mysteries are HARD to write.
Wow! Gorgeous view! Sounds like a great place to write. Too bad it’s so cold. I’m surprised since it’s in Louisiana.
The weather has been cold in a lot of southern places this year. I hear it’s supposed to be back in the 70’s next week.
Sounds fun. The last time I was in NOLA was back in 2003. I think? It was during the off season, so wandering the streets were very pleasant.
Huzzah to the word count!! 🙂
This is the third time I’ve been here. We’re staying right in the middle of the French quarter this time. I’ve really enjoyed the food!
I was pretty happy with my morning word count.
great job on the words!!
And if it was 40 degrees around here right now, we *might* have a sweatshirt on. It was only 20 out the other day, and I just wore a sweatshirt instead of coat to go out to the garage. 🙂 Hope you had fun on the ghost tour.
Thanks, Fallon!
It actually rained during our ghost tour, so it was chilly AND wet. But we hung in there. LOL. It’s actually colder at home in Tennessee right now. I hate being cold. The ghost tour was fun despite the weather, and there were a couple of stories that gave me chills.
Wow! What an ambitious set of writing goals for the year. You inspire me. Have a great day, Lauralynn. TTFN
I’m trying a little harder to push myself this year. I won’t get bent out of shape if I don’t make my goals, but I honestly think I can. I have a goal of 150,000 words for the year. We’ll see.
I love making a list of goals (obviously), but I’m absolutely fine if things change … as they often do. Have a great week.
Have fun in Nawlins…
I had some crab cakes with a creamy crawfish sauce. That was one of the highlights of my trip. 🙂
