Wow, it’s already time to state Round 3 goals. Where did the time go?
1. Finish and publish Fire Wizard
2. Start my mystery and my science fiction
3. Write a MINIMUM of five hours per week
4. Work on my line editing jobs a MINIMUM of ten hours per week
Yes, I know I have twice as much time dedicated to editing other people’s work than my own, but I have to go where the money is since I’m broke. LOL
Happy Round Three. Hope you have a good week. 🙂 x
Thanks!! You, too!
Sometimes you have to go where the money is. It’s why I end up ditching some story ideas and going for others. If your sales start going up, you can cut back on editing. This time of year going to the end of the year is usually rough. It’s why from September to December, I only publish books I don’t think would do well anyway. Who knows? Maybe if you find times of the year that work better to publish books, you could fluctuate the time you devote to editing. (just a thought) 🙂
Ideally, I would do both. Honestly, I could probably cut back on unnecessary things so I could work more. But I need to make sure there’s a balance so I don’t get burned out. I like editing. Someday, if my book sales don’t get better, I might devote myself mostly to that.
These are simple goals, and solid, too. If you need money, you need it. Starving writers might sound romantic, but really, minds and bodies alike need to be fed. Hopefully, you’ll be able to add in writing time at some point. Until then, five hours a week trumps none, anytime! =D
I’ve never had the desire to be a starving writer. Reality is reality, you know?
Yes, I do know. And my unwillingness to starve is clearly evident in the fact that I married a chef! =D
