I’m now back to work trying to recover from my weekend. Why do we always have to rest from our vacations? LOL
My son said I shouldn’t have complained about the kids making so much noise above us in the motel room. He kind of made me feel bad. I got to thinking…what if there was a reason the kids were pounding their feet across the floor like a herd of elephants. But it turned out they were UNSUPERVISED kids, and each adult thought the other one was watching them. So maybe I did them a favor. What if they got hurt in the room alone? See, that’s what I keep telling myself so I don’t sound like a total horse’s butt.
Anyway, there were fireworks…
And accordion players…
I used to be able to embed the videos in a post, but I couldn’t find that option. Maybe it’s not available on the iPad app? I’m having to use my iPad because my work computer is in the shop. I love my iPad and my iPhone, but I still prefer a computer. SO much easier.
The Bavarian restaurant player made me smile.
He was so funny!
Glad you had a chance to take a little vacay! And I’m totally with you on telling the front desk about loud people above you. Many times people don’t realize they are bothering someone else until they are told. It’s not fair to spend money to stay somewhere and have it noisy like that. Don’t worry about what anyone else thinks, you did the right thing for yourself by alerting the front desk.
When I say loud, I mean VERY loud. Like a herd of elephants. LOL. And the people were regular guests at the hotel, so the staff had no problem calling them. My biggest fear was retaliation from them, but the staff said they weren’t those kind of people. And you’re right about spending money to relax, then have that interrupted. During a holiday like this, a hotel room is pretty expensive. But my husband needed the holiday badly enough, that we felt like it was worth the cost.
Welcome back, now get to work. Love the accordian guy.
I’m trying to work, but my computer is in the shop. There’s only so much I can do on my laptop since the programs I need aren’t loaded on it. I guess I’ll just have to surf the net….
That guy was cool, wasn’t he?
I want to smack patents who don’t watch their kids. Restaurants or flights are the worst, I find. I’ve yet to suffer a rowdy neighbour like you did.
I find WP is poop with various embed items, it doesn’t appreciate the code. Loved the vids though. You tube rocks for entertainment …
Be rested, see you soon for more updates. 🙂

There are some instances where children have certain problems that cause them to misbehave and they can’t help it. But for the kids to be unsupervised? That’s not cool. They were just running around, jumping, etc. The bad thing was that hubby had been up since Friday afternoon and worked all night and Saturday morning, then drove straight to Helen. He had been up about 24 hours.
Yes! It *is* a good thing you said something – remember that incident in Spain where an unsupervised child disappeared from a hotel room?
Glad you had a great time!
It scares me how parents don’t watch their children as they should. Things are pretty bad these days, so many predators.
This is why I’m glad I live in a single unit house. My deaf kid is loud and he runs and jumps a lot. I don’t know if he has ADHD, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it comes up at his IEP meeting in the future. I was telling my husband the other day that the nice thing about a house is that when the kids are loud, no one is bothered by it. We have taken vacations as a family (because I really want to build those family memories), but we do worry about other people and if we’ll disturb someone.
After a while when the noise doesn’t stop, you do have to make a phone call. I would have done the same thing since it went on for as long as it did. I have done the same thing. When we were on base, we lived in a quadplex and the parents periodically left their three kids (11, 10, and 9) alone, and those kids would bang on the walls for hours, go out and turn on the water outside when it was freezing (almost causing other cars to have accidents), and do other things to disturb people. We all ended up calling the security force on the base, but the parents got away with it every time and the parents did retaliate to the point where my husband and I had to move our family off base. You just never know with people.
I always hesitate to judge why kids misbehave. ADHD, autism…so many things it could be, and I know parents have a hard time dealing with it. Bit if I hadn’t called, those kids would have been unsupervised for who knows how long. They could have gotten hurt or kidnapped. So annoying me actually helped them. LOL.
