I’ve been thrown quite a few curve balls the last six months. Life hasn’t been a lot of fun for me. But I know there are a lot of people dealing with a lot worse, so I’m thankful for all the good things. Because there ARE a lot of good things. Unfortunately, one of those good things WASN’T writing like I should.
Anyway, for this round’s goals, I don’t want to set the standard too high because I’m going to have to get back into the groove. For now, I’m going to set my goal for writing a hour on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. When work slows down and LIFE slows down (I hope), I’m going to add Tuesday to the mix. Hopefully, I can do that soon. We’ll see how that goes. I usually set goals higher, but right now, too much is going on. I need goals I can actually meet. Monday is going to be for my sponsor duties if I don’t get everyone visited on Sunday. I never write on Wednesdays and Sundays, because those are church days, and Wednesday is sponsor day, too.
I hope everyone has a great Round Two in 2013!
I like your approach of easing into writing. It’s tough as nails to get back into a routine once it’s been disrupted. Good luck!
You’re right, it’s really hard to get back into a routine. ANY routine, not just writing.
We have almost the same goals! My goal is to write an hour every day.
Life interrupts and disrupts those goals. Try not to get down on yourself. We are all here to support you, so get cracking! 🙂
Yes, Ma’am! LOL.
Let’s hope life slows down a bit.
Yes, good luck with easing back into a regular regime. That’s a positive way to tackle it. I got sidetracked a lot last time so I am also needing to write on a regular basis on the WIP and not on article writing sites! Take care.
Thanks, Pam. I got sidetracked, too, but most of it was beyond my control. This has got to be a better round! 😉
That’s a good idea setting goals to ease back in, nothing kills the muse faster then a bunch of hard deadlines. Good luck to you and I hope things get better 🙂
I think I would be setting myself up for frustration if I try to jump back in too fast. Thanks for your kind words. Surely, things will look up soon. 🙂
I like to set the bar high, it makes it easier to limbo under it. JK. Just do what you can, don’t force yourself, otherwise the time spent writing may not be as productive. One day and one step at a time. Although, I am a professional procrastinator, so just go with your own thing. I’m gonna go take a scenic route and enjoy the sunshine 🙂
You need to write outside. Then you can write and enjoy the sunshine at the same time. 😛
And that limbo thing…it’s an interesting mental picture….
This seems like such a great, smart set of goals. It’s really good that you are taking into account all the busy life stuff going on and not setting yourself up to be overwhelmed. Good stuff!
Thanks, Kim. We can only do so much without totally burning out, and I don’t want that to happen. So I’m setting goals at minimum right now and maybe ramping them up later.
