I had a disagreement with my youngest son last night, so my heart is hurting a little this morning. Oh, who am I kidding…a little?…I can’t stop crying. But that’s life, I guess.
This week it’s time to get the ball rolling. The first thing I need to do is finish reading a manuscript for a friend. Then, I need to get Soul of a Vampire uploaded to CreateSpace for print. I plan on doing those two things today. Then, tomorrow, I’m going to start on a new story. I’ll probably make notes on that today, so I’ll be ready to actually write tomorrow. I haven’t gotten a new office chair yet…that might have to wait due to lack of funds. So I guess I’ll just put a cushion in the chair and go about my writing. 🙂
😦 Hang in there, Lauralynn!
Thanks, Juli.
Sorry to hear about your disagreement with your son. 😦 I hope it gets resolved soon.
I also hope you’re able to get back to writing. I hate dry patches where nothing comes out. Getting the ball rolling again is so tough.
Thanks, Ruth. I hope it does get resolved. 😦
I will get back to writing. It’s been too long.
Those kind of disagreements hurt the most. Like Ruth said, I hope you two can get things resolved and get back to a better place. Sounds like you’ve got a plan. Good luck this week.
Thanks, Ryan. No one can break one’s heart like a child.
I do have a plan, and I really want to stick to it!
Oh no! And after such a great lunch yesterday I hate that you had a bad evening. 😦 (((hugs)))
On the other note though consider this my public kicking you in the butt to get SoaV uploaded for print today! Geez it’s not like you were waiting for the cover to be finished or anything. That’s been done for like…..what….October??? Heehee
I hope he gets over his anger with me soon. 😦
Yeah, it was probably October. I have NO excuse.
Ok it’s 5pm. Have you uploaded it yet? 😉
Funny you should ask. I was in the middle of trying to upload to CreateSpace and it came to the part where you upload the cover. To my surprise, someone, who shall remain nameless, had sent me a jpg file instead of a pdf file for the cover. Hahahahahahahahaha. Maybe I can get that done tomorrow night. 🙂
Oh geez!!!!! 😦
Wishing you much success with your planned upload and writing!
I so understand the heart-wrenching moments of parenthood. Thankfully parents have stronger hearts, probably because they are broken so many times (but healed by such an overwhelming love). Hugs.
Thank you, Tia!
Parenthood. *sigh* I thought it was supposed to get easier when they were grown.
Hi Lauralynn,
Sorry to hear about your disagreement with your son — I hope it gets resolved soon. It’s easy for something like that to take up a lot of your thoughts and strip your enthusiasm for writing, that’s for sure. A new story sounds like a great idea. I bet you eventually finish the book your husband inspired, but right now you gotta get your writing groove back. Shiny new project is just the ticket!
Thanks, J.R. I haven’t been able to think about much of anything else today. It’s helping, though, that I’ve been deep into SOMEONE’S manuscript. 🙂
I do need to get that groove back. I just need to step away from my husband’s story for awhile. You’re probably right…I’ll finish it one day.
A nice cushion is a good substitute. Enjoy starting the new story.
I have to have the cushion for both comfort and height. I can’t raise the height of the chair anymore. 😦 I look forward to starting fresh.
So sorry to hear this. I’m not sure what else to add, except peace. And a good enough cushion until you get a new chair.
Apparently, my son is no longer angry, so maybe that’s worked out in his head.
I really, really need that new chair, but I need to sell a few more books before I get it. LOL. Right now, the cushion will have to do.
Sorry to hear about your disagreement with your son. I hate it when things like that happen. It weighs heavy on your heart. Hope you get it worked out. Wishing you lots of luck with your writing! 🙂
Family has a way of hurting each other. 😦 I think things are better today.
Thanks, I need to get back to writing at least five days a week!
Gotta love kids, nobody can hurt me the way they can. Ah well, what can you do?
I also need a new chair for my office. My son broke my current chair (really he’s lucky I love him). And I too need to get back into writing. I don’t feel like I took the whole month of January off, but I sure don’t feel like I’ve done a lot of writing either, and I certainly didn’t lose 13 lbs. Wow, what did I do? That’s it, I’m off to do something now!
GL, I hope everything resolves itself in a wonderous way 🙂
Kids can definitely hurt you more than anyone. I think things are at least tentatively resolved.
I actually bought a chair at lunch today. I went to Staples just to look, but one of the chairs felt so good, I had to have it. I spent almost all evening assembling it. I’m worn out now. LOL
Go do something, Chris. 🙂
