My plans were to get up early every morning Mon-Fri this week to write. You know, before anyone else got up. This has been a total fail. Our friends who are always late sleepers have decided that this week they weren’t going to be. We’ve been to Florida with them for several years and this is the first year they’ve gotten up as early as I have. Now I only have two mornings left. I have two choices…either give up writing this week or get up VERY early the next two days. Do I really want to get up that early while I’m on vacation? Isn’t part of vacation being relaxed and getting up when you feel like it? What a dilemma!
Personally I think they are trying to sabotage you. 😉
LOL. On the bright side, Janice read Haunted Lake and loved it. 🙂
Yay! About time. 😉
Get up late; write late, stay up later! Yeah, about time Janice read one of your books. Now try getting Steve to read one of mine! LOL
I’m not much of a night owl. I get sleepy early. But the others are night owls. So I don’t have any time to write. And can you imagine me trying to write with Janice awake? LOL. I may just have to get up earlier tomorrow.
Actually, Janice has read A Rocky Path, too. She read it several years ago on another Florida vacation.
I think Jon would agree with me: Go eat some pasta. Solves everything. 😀
Pasta can solve a lot of problems. Or at least make them not seem so bad. LOL. I’m glad you guys finally got to meet up.
Btw, I’m currently about halfway through The Only Sparkle. Pants??? That’s all I’m saying so I won’t spoil things for other readers. LOL
I’d probably do the same thing, Lauralynn! Ha. I just finished The Only Sparkle, too….loved it! Ad yes…you cannot say too much or you’ll ruin it for other readers. What a hysterical premise! Matt Hofferth wrote a great little novelette.
Nadja, I was actually able to get some writing done before anyone got up this morning! Well, my husband was up, but he was very quiet and didn’t even turn on the television. 🙂
I finished The Only Sparkle pretty quickly. It really was a cool story. I love his sense of humor!
I’m a terrible morning person, so I’m not a good one to ask! I know that some authors get up early to write and swear by it, but my brain doesn’t kick in for the first hour anyway. And the mere thought of being up before the birds awake makes me dizzy.
Perhaps you could hide in the bathroom with your laptop? Run out for an “errand” and head to a coffee shop? Stay up later? I don’t know. Best wishes with it!
I can’t write early when I’m working, but I thought I could on vacation. I actually managed it this morning!
Oh, dear, how awful that your writing plans have been sabotaged by Friendly People, the most evilist beings on the planet!
But seriously, usually when I’m on vacation, I also give myself vacation from writing — unless, of course, it’s a Writing Vacation, where I get to take a break from the real world and concentrate on writing …
Enjoy, either way! 🙂
Ruth, I decided to not worry too much about it. I did get to write this morning. I got up earlier and they got up later. Lol. The best writing vacation I could go on would be with my cover artist, Anya. I could write and she could read and we would both be happy. 🙂
I say stay up late and sleep in. 😀 They can be early risers and wait for you to join them. Good luck on getting something done.
I only got to write one day this week. I guess it’s back to the grind on Monday, so I’ll get organized and back to work. I should definitely be well rested. 🙂
