I just wanted to post a quick note to let you all know why I’ve not been around much. My mom had to have her other stent put in Tuesday. So I was at the hospital all day Tuesday and half a day on Wednesday. We found out that the infection she had at the pacemaker incision was staph. So I had to take her to an infectious disease specialist this morning. Tomorrow, I have to take her back to the hospital to get an IV put in, and they are going to give her antibiotics that way. Then home health is going to come to her house Saturday and get her set up for IVs at home, which she will have to do for two weeks. So I’m at the hospital or doc’s office all day and working all night to catch up. Hopefully, next week will be better. I think my blood pressure is up….
Praying for you and your family, honey. Hugs.
Thank you, Kait. Prayers are most welcome.
My prayers are with you, Lauralynn.
Thanks, Andrew. Keep praying.
Oh, geez! I hope it all gets better soon.
Stacey, I hope next week is better. The hospital and docs are 45 minutes away and I’ve been four days this week. It’s been tiring for my Mom and me.
Wishing your mom a speedy recovery!!!
Take deep breaths. Make sure you take a moment to stand still and don’t forget to take care of yourself: sleep, eat, hydrate. I was just in your position a few months ago, so I get it.
Lots and lots of hugs.
Thank you, Viansa. I’ve had a hard time taking care of me because I have been working at home every night to.make up being out. But maybe I can sleep late tomorrow.
Ugh! Well that sucks. I hope she gets better soon and that you’re taking as good care of yourself as you do everyone else. Hugs for you!
Thanks, Susan. It has been a rough month. But it WILL get better.
oh yikes. i didn’t realize it was all the other stuff from staph. t has been keeping me updated. you guys, as you know, are in my prayers.
Arlene, I know we’re always in your prayers. I can’t remember who I’ve told what. I’ve mostly just been answering people’s texts who ask about her.So your sis was a little upset with me last night. Lol. I’m trying to keep everyone informed but my mind is crazy right now.
As always we’re keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Relatives are always fun to take care of at least your mom’s a joy and I know she appreciates everything you do for her. Why isn’t that son doing the driving?
Yes, my mom is definitely a joy. She’s worth all the missed hours at work and the sitting in numerous waiting rooms.
My son had some other committments to a friend, which is another story. He’s trying to stretch himself too thin right now.
I was wondering where you’ve been. I was hoping it was just crazy work season. (That’s why I’ve been in an online ‘blackout’ lately.) Sorry to hear about your mom’s challenges. I’m thinking of both of you…
Thanks, Michelle. The crazy work season is part of it, too, because I have to work at home after I get back from the hospital and docs’ offices. So I can’t do much at night, either. She’s going to be on an infusion at home for two weeks. Someone has to hook the medicine up to her PICC line every day, then take it back off. She may be able to do it herself, but if she can’t, I’ll have to leave work every day to do that. This staph infection has been worse than all the rest. The reason they are treating it so aggressively is because of the pacemaker. Anytime there is a foreign object in the body (pacemaker, artificial hip, etc.) staph can be worse to deal with.
Now isn’t that more info than you needed? LOL
