The good news is that I finished two editing jobs, and I have two more currently going. I also have more lined up for later, so I’m pleased with that.
I haven’t been writing as much as I should, so I need to ramp that up. It IS helping that I now have a laptop in my office that STAYS in my office. So I have to go in there to work. The laptop in the living room is for playing (which I haven’t had time for).
I’m on Day 6 of the 21 Day Fix. Out of the 17 meals I’ve had so far, only two of them were “cheat” meals. I haven’t skipped a single day of the exercise, even though it’s really, really hard. I’ve lost 2 1/2 lbs, which averages to about a 1/2 lb. per day. I’ll take it.
Overall, I feel pretty good about the week so far.
YAY, you! Congrats on all those accomplishments!
Thanks, Mae!
Sounds like you’re staying very productive! 😀 Hopefully, the edits will get easier from this point on.
This is the most productive I’ve been in awhile. I mean everything, life in general. And I’m sure the edits will be easier. LOL
Awesome job working your goals! I love the idea of having a laptop in the living room and a work laptop in the office; makes me want to do the same. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, Morgan! The other good thing about my office laptop is that the screen is bigger, so I can see better when editing or writing. It’s made a big difference in my productivity. Also, I used to dread lugging my laptop, mouse, and everything else into the office, so I would just sit in the living room. Then hubby would have the TV on, and I would get distracted.
Totally get the distractions, my partner does the same thing. =)
Great job! Especially sticking to the food and exercise. Now you have shamed me into working out.
Thanks, Chris! Now get to work! 🙂
Awesome on the weight loss and finishing the two editing projects! What exactly is the 21 Day Fix?
The 21 Day Fix is a program where you have these containers for different types of food, and you get so many of each per day. Then they have these really hard (for me, anyway) exercise videos. It’s supposed to give you good results in 21 days. I’m on Day 7 today, and I’ve already lost 3 1/2 lbs. in 6 days. I’m having to modify the food a bit, though. I added up my calories, and I’m not getting enough. Probably because I’m not eating all my proteins. When I worked for Weight Watchers, you could count cheese and beans as proteins, but not on this plan. Even modified, though, it’s much better eating than I’ve been doing.
Sounds very interesting! Currently I’m just counting calories. I was on Weight Watchers once — lost almost 20 pounds. Sadly, I managed to gain it all back. 😦 It’s a never ending struggle.
I’ve started using my FatSecret app on my phone to count calories, too. That’s how I found out I wasn’t eating enough. I was feeling light-headed a lot, and since I’m diabetic, I have to be careful. So now I’m modifying the plan a bit and also following along with the FatSecret app to make sure I have enough calories.
I remember ‘playing.’ I used to sit down for hours at a time, boob toobing and playing Starcraft or Roller Coaster Tycoon. Alas, those days are gone.
I know what you mean! I’ve decided to start taking Wednesdays and Sundays off and do no writing or editing those days. They are church days, anyway, so I have limited time. So I get to play games on those days.
Looks like this are going well
They are! Thanks, Fallon!
Woo Hoo! Keep up the great work, Laurelynn!! The writing will come. Some days are easier than others.
Thanks, Cindy! Some days are definitely easier than others.
Sounds like a good week to me! I’m feeling better about things now that I’m catching up on a whole swath of blog stuff 🙂
That’s always a good feeling when you start catching up on stuff. I purchased a couple of planners (one for the day job, one for personal) on a Kickstarter project that I hope will up my productivity next year. It’s not just a calendar, but it has goal setting sections and other cool things. I can’t wait to get it.
