What have I been up to this week? Let’s see….
I’ve been using HabitRPG to keep up with habits and daily things I need to do. It’s pretty neat. Check it out HERE
Saturday, I made mozzarella and ricotta cheese, then made lasagna with them. I’ve had my friend’s 11-year-old son here this weekend, and he really loved it. Hubby did, too. 🙂
I finished a line editing job and am finishing up a second one in the next week. And I got another one today.
I haven’t written on my own WIP in a LONG time. I plan to change that this week. I’m going to put it on my HabitRPG list. I’m done with business trips for awhile (I got out of the last one I was supposed to go on), so life has settled down a bit.
So, anything interesting going on with you?
Yep. We had a bat fly into our house. That was pretty interesting, but it’s not something I want to go through ever again.
You amaze me with all the stuff you make from scratch.
I hope you’re able to get some writing in soon.
We had that happen when I was younger and still living at home. I thought it was pretty exciting to have a bat in the house. LOL
The made from scratch ricotta and mozzarella are SO good. Of course, they’re full fat, not part skim.
Definitely going to get some writing in. I just need to organize things.
Hmm, all that food sounded lovely.
I am going to check HabitRPG out.
Have a good week. x
The food was awesome. 🙂 Saturdays are the only times I can do stuff like that. HabitRPG is like a reward system. It’s pretty cool.
Lasagna with homemade cheeses sounds delicious. That’s something I haven’t tried before.
Have a great week!
It was SO good. 🙂
Saw the pics of all the dishes from such a fantastic meal. Cooking can be so much fun, but the clean up isn’t as fun.
I wish I had someone who could clean up after me all the time. I would probably cook more. LOL
You’re inspiring me! Not to make cheese, exactly – I have a resident chef who’s interested in doing that, though – but to do All. The. Things. I need to do in order to revamp the unlovely chaos that is our kitchen. It’s just a hodgepodge, and needs a complete overhaul and reset. But there are several other steps that need to happen first…
I’m happy you’re editing busily, and I wish you lots of writing time. I might check out that link, too.
My advice is to not try to do it all at once. Make little changes in the kitchen and don’t overwhelm yourself.
Making cheese is surprisingly easy. The ricotta has to be stirred for a pretty long time, and that’s the worst part. The mozzarella isn’t stirred as long because it doesn’t come to as high as a temperature, but then you have to microwave it twice to get the rest of the whey out, then you are supposed to stretch it, which is kind of fun. 🙂
I’m ready to get back to writing!
I agree with your advice! Good thing, too, because all at once is NOT going to happen here. In order to reset the kitchen, I need to reset the family room. In order to reset the family room, I need to reset the enclosed porch…I’m hoping that by the end of winter, things will be more usable. maybe not done, but much closer. That seems like enough.
Write well and joyfully!
HabitRPG is my liiiiiiiiife. Good to see another good person falling into the trap of its effectiveness. Right now, I’m a little obsessed with collecting all the pets…
Good luck getting back into the WIP, Lauralynn! Maybe the time off from it will help infuse some new energy into your writing.
I’ve just discovered it, and there is much fun to be had. 🙂
I’m really hoping to get back at it tonight. I had two line editing jobs at the same time, and I just couldn’t do ALL THE THINGS. My WIP is at the moment in the main climax/dark moment, and I’m anxious to see what happens. I mean, I kind of know, but sometimes the characters surprise me.
We had a long weekend here, so I got to hang out with some friends I hadn’t seen in a while.
Your editing business seems to be doing great. Congrats. I’ve got a craving for lasagne now!
Hanging out with friends is always fun. I’m going to see a good friend this weekend.
Lasagne! I wonder why Word AND WordPress always correct it to lasagna with an “a”? I like the “e” spelling, but used an “a” in this post because it seems to be more common. I’m glad someone finally agrees with me on the “e” spelling. LOL
Okay, so I just looked it up. North Americans use “lasagna”. Europeans usually use “lasagne”. In Italian, “lasagna” is singular and “lasagne” is plural. I learned something new today.
I bet you didn’t expect such a long reply. 🙂
Lol, I didn’t even notice the spelling difference. Thanks for the information. I may need to remember that next time I write a book set in the states and written in American English.
