My Supernatural Spreadsheet says I’m on track to meet my goal for April. 🙂 It tracks your daily word count average and your goals based on what you have entered, and it will tell you how you’re doing. Like after I keyed in my progress for Jan-Mar, it said in each month “This month is over. Better luck next month”. Since I want my spreadsheet to be proud of me, I must meet my April goal. Hey, it’s Sam and Dean, ya know?
I’m still working on Fire Wizard, although I would like to set aside a little time for my cozy mystery. We’ll see how that goes. I’m working on a proofreading job for an author, too, and that’s always fun because I get to READ. I just have to read more carefully and slowly. And make red marks. I’m thinking of changing to purple…. 🙂
I’m also preparing for a trip to Asheville, NC for a work trip. I think I’ll enjoy that one.
Busy, busy. How about the rest of you?
Okay that’s pretty awesome. I have my own tracker for various and sundry stuff, but…Dean….
There are pictures…. Actually you can get a spreadsheet for each of them…Sam, Dean, or Cas. Or get the one I got with all three. 🙂
Ooh, I love Asheville! I’ve only been there once, but I really, really liked it when I went. That should be fun. And being on track for your goals is good, but knowing you’re on track through the power of a Winchester? How can you possibly fail?
One time I went to a small rose show at the Biltmore as an exhibitor for the company I work for. I didn’t get to see much of Asheville, but I did get to see the Biltmore estate. We got to stay in the Biltmore hotel because the rose show attendees got a special room rate. It’s beautiful in that area.
The power of a Winchester…I like that. 🙂
Hmmm, I think a spreadsheet would remind me of how much I didn’t achieve, but glad it’s working for you.
Asheville is great place to get sent to, jealous.
I’m trying to look at the positive aspect of the spreadsheet. 🙂 Actually, when the thing said I didn’t make my goals for the previous three months, I didn’t get bent out of shape. I’m not one to get all anxious about “failing”. It’s just part of the process, which is ongoing. We do the best we can.
I’m excited about the trip.
I downloaded the Hook one, so I have him watching me as I write. Wait, that might not be so conducive to words. I did have the supernatural one but must have saved it to the temp file & couldn’t find it again.
great job on your progress! I’m a little behind where I want to be, but I’m sure that will change.
Hook would be another good choice! In my opinion, he’s the best-looking guy on OUAT.
Thanks, I was so far behind the previous months, I’m determined to do better. You know, with Sam and Dean watching over me. 🙂
Nice spreadsheet! I’m a huge “Supernatural” fan, so I might just have to start using those. Thanks for sharing.
Enjoy Asheville. I’ve been there once before and remember it being a really nice place to visit. I hope it’s a fun time, even if you have to do some work while you’re there. 🙂
I just discovered Supernatural in the last year on Netflix, and I’m hooked. I think I’m on Season Three.
The working will involved selling at a booth. That’s always kind of fun because you get to meet all kinds of people.
What a neat idea this supernatural spreadsheet is. I always seem to have a hard time keeping to any word count goal so I will definitely check this out. I hope you meet your goal this April, luckily there is still plenty of time!
I loved the spreadsheet idea. I’m a little behind because of the business trip I’m on, but I’ll try to catch up. 🙂
How do you get the html code to work on your widgets? I tried pasting in the html code in the text box for the widgets, but when I saved it, WordPress deleted half the code and I don’t know why. This happened with a graphic Stephannie Beman had for her cover business, so it’s not the html code that’s the problem. It’s something I’m doing or not doing, and I can’t figure it out. Usually, I upload the graphic and get it on the widget as a jpeg, but I’d like to be able to do the html code thing. I want to put The Forge on my blog. This is why I’m asking. 😀
I didn’t do this the way Kait had it set up to do from the “get the badge” site. I had a hard time getting it to work that way, too. Sometimes the “hosted” WP sites work differently from the ones that are just pointing to your domain. I’m not sure which you have. I used the “image” widget instead of the text widget for this. I downloaded the badge by right clicking and using “save image as”. Then I uploaded the image to my WordPress library. I went to the image, found the URL for the image in my library, then added the image widget, copy/pasted the image URL from the WordPress library, then used the Forge’s website in the link URL. I know that sounds long and complicated, but it really isn’t.
Oh, and thanks for the support of “The Forge”. 🙂
I can’t do the right click thing on the Mac laptop. If there is a direct way to download an image on Mac, I don’t know what it is. I do know how to right click on a Windows computer. Next time I’m working on formatting a book, I’ll see if I can snag the image off of there then download it onto my dipstick and transfer it over here.
Dipstick???
Whatever that thing is called that you plug into your computer to download files so you can have a backup copy or to transfer something from one computer to another. (I’m not the most technologically advanced person around. :))
Okay, that just cracked me up. Because that’s what we call people around here when they’re being stupid. LOL. Who knows, that might be a proper term for that thing because I’ve heard it called lots of things. I call it a flash drive, Anya calls it a jump drive, and I’ve heard it called other things. But I’ve never heard it called a dipstick. I learned something new today. 🙂 And now, I’m going to have to call it that from now on because it makes me grin. Isn’t it funny how different areas use different names for things? I bet you’ve never called someone a dipstick. (If not, then you’ve learned something new, too.)
Flash drive! That’s the word. LOL But I call it dipstick because that’s what my husband always calls it, and he got the term from his dad who lives in Montana (so maybe it’s a Montana thing). I used the term with a local friend of mine and she had no idea what I was talking about. I assumed it was because she isn’t familiar with these terms, but maybe it’s because people in Nebraska don’t say dipstick either.
I love how words can mean different things in different areas of the country. 🙂
