Those of you who follow my blog know what’s going on. My husband has been in ICU with a blood clot in his lung and another in his leg. This has involved getting to see him four times a day and spending most of the rest of the days and nights in the waiting room. Luckily, I had my own little cubicle. Yesterday, he was moved to a regular room, and they found me a recliner to sleep in. Let’s just say the couch in my cubicle was much more comfortable. I’ve had very little sleep. My arms kept going to sleep when I lie on my side.
I was so strong for the first three days, but these last couple…I keep bursting into tears. Stress, fear, lack of sleep, it all takes it’s toll. I was told it could take a couple of weeks for these clots to dissolve. We are both out of work, obviously, at the moment. Oh how I wish my book sales would take off for just a little while so the lack of work wouldn’t hurt so badly.
So, anyway, I guess it’s obvious I didn’t get any writing done. Maybe things will get better later in the week….
Hi three, I dop hoppe yor husband has a swift recovery and that you .have some rest. You are in my prayers. God bless Katy.
Thank you, Katy. Don’t worry about the typos. You should see some of mine. Lol.
Forgive the typos, my cleaner has just been in and adjusted the keyboard!! But again, I do hope all is well and take care.
You are in my thoughts and prayers! Hoping for a speedy recovery, don’t forget to take care of YOU! and don’t worry about not writing, there are more important things, and life is one of them! We (your fans) will still be here when the next book comes out!
Thank you, Denise. You made me feel good when you said “fans”. 🙂
I’m so sorry you’re going through all of this stress and anxiety. I don’t even know what to say. Nobody can be strong every day – I just hope it all gets better quickly.
Thank you so much, Claire. It’s good to know I have so many good friends thinking of me.
You and your hubby will be in our thoughts. So sorry for all you’ve been through. Hugs!!!
Thank you, Juli.
You know I’m here for you! I’m going to go see what I can do about helping with those book sales. My mission for today! Maybe that’s how I can best help. ❤ ya bestie! (((Hugs)))
Thanks for always having my back, Anya. You’re a true friend.
{{HUGS}} Being moved to a regular room is a great sign though. Focus on the positive. Keeping y’all in my prayers.
Thanks, Kait. They are going to let him get up a little bit today, I think. The bad news is that he’ll be out of work a lot longer than we were thinking. But his health comes before anything monetary. He needs to get well.
Hugs and prayers for you and your husband, Lauralynn. Sending lots of good energy your way.
Thank you, Lara.
You and your husband are in my prayers. It’s good that they caught the clots.
Thank you, John. I’m glad he had enough pain to know something serious was wrong. I know we hate pain, but sometimes that’s what saves our lives.
**HUGS** You are so strong and your husband is lucky to have you by his side in this hard time. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Thank you Sandy. It’s hard, but I know there are people who are suffering more than we are. I try to hold on to how lucky we really are.
I really hope he gets better soon. It’s good that the clots were caught. Sending good vibes in your direction.x
Thanks, Laura. I’m glad he went on to the doctor. This things are life threatening if you don’t get treatment in time.
Sending a big virtual hug you’re way. I really hope your husband is better soon.
Thanks, Michelle. I need all the hugs I can get. He seems to be a little better each day, so maybe we can get out of here soon. It will be a long recovery at home, but I think people feel better when they are home.
I’m so sorry! I’m sending positive thoughts that your husband has a quick recovery. Hang in there. The writing will be there when you’re able again.
Thank you! I miss the writing, but I have to focused on hubby first. You’re right…the writing will still be there.
Each day may well require more and more strength and courage of you and those you love. Know that your virtual community is thinking of you and hoping for better news. The writing may be set aside for a time. That’s OK. Write when you can. For now, I’m going to check out your books.
Thank you so much. It gives me strength just to know so many are thinking of me. The writing will wait, but hopefully not too long.
It’s always nice to stop by a new blog, but in this case I wish it were for a different reason. You and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers, Lauralynn. I wish a quick recovery to him, and lots of relaxation and calmness for you.
Thank you, Karen. I appreciate those prayers, believe me. He’s much better, but not quite out of the woods yet. But soon.
Wishing you and your husband the best during this trying time.
Thank you, Gloria.
Saying a prayer right now for you and your husband, Lauralynn. My heart goes out to you with all of the stress you’re under. I’m also headed over to tweet about your books.
Thank you, Julie, you’re such a sweetie. 🙂
You’re in my thoughts and prayers and this giant hug is for you. Please don’t forget to take care of you. I just found a great read on amazon and I tweeted about my purchase. Looking forward to reading Guardian Vampire.
Thank you, S.J. I appreciate your prayers and thoughts. And I can always use giant hugs. Guardian Vampire was one of my first books. I hope you like it.
I just heard about what you and your husband are going through. Lauralynn, I’m so sorry. You’ll be in my thoughts and prayers and I’m sending bear hugs, good vibes, and lots of hope your way! I’ll be checkin in. Try to take care of yourself too, hon. I hope you’ve got friends and family in that cubicle of yours with you, but your virtual family is all rooting you guys!
Thank you so much, Jess. I’m thankful for my friends and family that I see face to face, but I am also so truly blessed with all my virtual friends. They have all amazed me with their caring spirits.
Oh, sweetie, I have no words. Just prayers for you and your husband and lots of love your way. I’ll help in whatever way I can. Love you.
Hi Sharon! Thank you so much. Those prayers are definitely what I need.
So sorry to hear about your husband’s illness, Lauralynn. Do hope he is properly on the mend soon.
Looking forward to reading ‘Starfane’ that I just got on Amazon UK, and sending good vibes your way.
Thank you, Pam! He is doing better, but it’s going to be a long recovery process.
I hope you enjoy Starfane. It’s my mom’s favorite.
😦 You’ve been under a lot of stress. I don’t know how you’re able to keep going. I’ll be praying for you and your husband.
Thank you, Ruth. For EVERYTHING.
Lauralynn,
I had missed following you somehow. Fixed that oversight. Bought three books that are tempting me to read them RIGHT NOW!. Shared and reblogged and donated..
And sending empathy and strength your way. My husband spent 10 days in the hospital after a motorcycle-deer collision in Feb. 2012. It was terrifying. I managed to hold it together until he was home, then went to pieces for a week or two over just about anything…maybe it’s better you’re releasing some of that now.
Sending big powerful healing vibes your way, and hope that you are feeling some easing of the financial pressures, and know that you are loved. =)
Thank you for all your help. Although, I’m a little embarrassed by the fundraiser thing, I’m still really, really grateful to Kait for doing it and for all of you who have contributed. And I really hope you enjoy the books.
I hope your husband is ok now. I know you were so scared, and somehow we manage to be strong at first. My husband has actually had a couple of mini-strokes in the past, and the second one was worse because I was there when it happened. I was strong all the way to the hospital. It was a day later when I fell apart. It seems we do what we have to, and then we lose it later. You definitely know how I feel if your husband was in the hospital because of a bad accident. I know that had to be awful
Thanks for the good vibes. Honestly, the financial pressure doesn’t feel so bad now. And it’s all due to loving and generous people.
