I thought I would do a post so you guys wouldn’t forget about me since I didn’t check in on Sunday. I think that’s the first check in I’ve missed in Round Three.
1. My son, who is a guard at a large plant, just passed his permit to carry class with 100% in both the written test and the shooting test. Now he can be an ARMED guard. I’m so proud of my two boys…er…men. LOL
2. Because of a blog post written by Tiffany White, I got a strong urge to watch Twin Peaks. I bought the box set, which was on sale at Amazon, and I’m having a great time watching it!
3. I’m heading out on Saturday to see Susan, Kait, and Andrew. I always get so excited when I get to meet with fellow authors. This will be a great trip! There are so many of you I would love to meet, and I’m hoping someday I’ll be able to travel enough to do that.
4. My exercising and healthy eating plans are not going well. But I’m not giving up!
Okay, that’s enough for now. I don’t want to bore you. 🙂
P’shaw! There’s no being bored in updates!
Have a great time on your trip! And congrats to your son, too! That’s got to be both exciting and a little intimidating at the same time…though this is coming from someone who’s never even held a gun before (unless you count water pistols).
Hi, L.S. Thanks for not being bored. LOL
I intend to have a wonderful time on the trip. I’ve met Kait once, and Susan a couple of times, but this will be the first time I’ve met Andrew.
You’ve never held a gun? I had a good friend actually GIVE me a Colt 357, and he came over to help me with target practice. When I put two shots into the same hole he said, “Well…I guess you didn’t need practice.” LOL Guns can be intimidating, but I live way out in the country, and I have French doors that open out of my bedroom. And my husband works at night. So since I’m there by myself, I definitely feel better with a gun close by.
Heh, well, I have discovered that I do have that kind of accuracy and aim, too…but with throwing axes! So maybe I should just keep a few of those beside my bed instead.
My question would be why would you have ever thrown an ax in the first place? Do I want to know??? 🙂
The answer isn’t nearly as exciting as it could be, but you can discover a lot of unknown talents at a Ren Faire, apparently!
Our police don’t even carry guns. 😀 Congrats to your boy/man! 😉
Have a great trip!
Your police don’t carry guns? So what do they do about the criminals who DO carry guns? That’s kind of scary to me that the police couldn’t even protect me against an armed criminal. Things are definitely different there than here! I would like to learn more about that.
Sometimes it’s hard to think of my sons as men, but they definitely are. They’re still my babies, though. 🙂
We actually have a fair number of shootings here all things considered, but they’re mostly gangland related. There is a special detective unit that carry guns, but I don’t know the ins and outs of it – if they carry weapons at all times, when they’re called out to an investigation, that sort of thing. I’ve only ever seen them on one occasion. It was kind of chilling to see them holding guns, I would probably be terrified in the US!
You would be terrified only because you aren’t used to the guns. I feel safer because our police are armed. I feel safer because I’m armed at home. I think it’s all about what you’re used to.
Awww…your boys..er, I mean men. As a mom to three boys, your comment there just made me smile.
That’s great that you are going to meet up with a few ROW fellow participants! I would love that, too! Have a great time! ~ Nadja
It’s hard to believe my boys are men. LOL
I can’t wait to see everyone this weekend. I keep thinking someday I’ll go around the country and visit with some authors that are far away. I don’t know if I’ll ever make it out of the country or not, though. Depends on how well my books do. 😉
