I submitted my files to CreateSpace just a few days ago. Yesterday, I got the proof copy back. They are so quick! They were the same way when I did a print book for Jonathan Eli. I was very pleased with the way the book looked. The cover that Anya and I agonized over looked fine. So Haunted Lake is now available in the CreateSpace Store and will be available at Amazon in just a few days. Squee!

I have nothing against e-books, but I love a book in print that I can open and curl up with. Let me know when it’s on Amazon! I don’t know what CreateSpace is?
CreateSpace is actually an Amazon company. You upload your book file and your cover file and they will print your book on demand. If you have a regular account, it doesn’t cost you anything. They just take part of the price of the book, just like they do with ebooks. But if you want expanded distribution (available to bookstores and libraries) it cost $39 for the first year and some really small fee each year after that. You also get a higher royalty percentage if you do expanded distribution. You have to learn to format for print and your cover artist has to know how to format the cover. It’s been a learning curve, but I love doing it! I’ve actually thought about offering formatting services for a small fee. I think it’s fun.
I can’t wait! I will be picking this up. And THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for the wonderful review of “The Secret Dreams of Sarah-Jane Quinn.” I have to admit this is my favorite of everything I’ve written, and I was quite nervous about putting it out for public consumption. You’ve alleviated all my fears. 😉
Oh, and that cover is awesome!!
Thanks, Sharon! This is my favorite of everything I’ve written. And I just realized that I said the exact same thing that you did about your book. And it wasn’t intentional! LOL. I’m glad you like the cover. I know the couple looks old fashioned, but they’re supposed to.
You shouldn’t have worried about Sarah-Jane. It’s a great story!
