My goal is to write an average of 500 words per day. Right now, I’m about 1300 words behind. I’ve had some different things going on that’s hindered me, but I wrote 1193 words last night. So if I keep writing more than my average I’ll eventually catch up. If I stop taking days off….

You’re making progress. Think of it as 1193 more words that you didn’t have rather than 1300 words behind. Best of luck this week!
Cathryn, I like your thinking. Thanks!
I know what you mean…distractions and other responsibilities can eat up our time. As long as we do something, we’re ahead of the game. Hang in there!
Here’s my ROW 80 CHECK-IN
There are so many other things in life besides writing. Although writing is important, it’s not always the MOST important thing.
You can do it! *Whips out the pom-poms* You’ve been ahead before, you can do it again – either way you’re still doing really well. I’m not even thinking about how much I must be behind!
Claire, that makes for an interesting mental picture. LOL
As long as we’re writing something, we’re accomplishing something, right?
Don’t worry too much about being behind! 1193 is an awesome number to bust out in one sitting. You’ll catch up!
Stacey, sometimes I can barely get the 500. And then there are those times when I get these brainstorms and words just come tumbling out.
it’s more words than 0 and every word past 0 is a bonus in a writing life
Alberta, I get what you mean. Every word counts. Because there have been times in the past where there were…well…no words.
Hang in there and you’ll get it! Go hole up in your new “den” and play some good music and have at it!
Besides you’re leaving me hanging….. π¦
Anya, I need to send you some more pages. I actually went back and added some male POV, so i need to send it all to you and tell you what pages I changed. π
I love my new “den”. LOL
I took yesterday off myself and now I feel guilty… Perhaps a round of chocolates are in order π
I think chocolate just might do the trick. Just be sure not to feel guilty about eating the chocolate. LOL. I took yesterday off, too….again.
When you think you’re behind….revise your goals. That’s what I did. I feel much better now for it, too. LOL Sometimes life happens right in the middle of something else we’re trying to do–drives me nuts, but what can you do (other than revise your goals, that is. :-)).
But you got your almost 1200 words written–that’s no small feat some days. Congrats on that!
Thanks, Sharon!. The only reason I hesitate to revise my goals is that my goals are so reasonable to start with. I think I just got lazy. Or maybe so involved in other things that I lost sight of what I was doing. I’m going to try to continue on and see what happens. And then if I have to revise, I will. I just don’t want to excuse myself from laziness, if that’s really what it is. π
