I just started reading Blood Lust by Zoe Winters. I’ve already read the three novellas, each one a great read by itself. But this time, I’m going to read them all together. I won’t have to wait on the next installment…just go right into the next one. I love these novellas and I’m excited about getting into Zoe’s world again. After all, she’s the reason I’m writing. 😉
Also, if any of you are Science Fiction fans, you might want to try the novel by a new author, Jonathan Eli. It’s called The Last Cabbandeum. I edit Jonathan’s books for him, so if there are errors, it’s my fault I didn’t catch them. LOL. If any readers see errors, I hope they’ll let us know so we can fix them.
I’ve been reading so many different types of books lately. Everything from young adult to paranormal romance to murder mysteries to horror. And I’ve found a lot of authors that I’ve never heard of, most of them indies. (I find a lot of them on Zoe’s blog.) I know that most people kind of stick to the genre they like best, but I think readers cheat themselves by not dipping into a different kind of book now and then. So take a chance. If you like paranormal romance, try a murder mystery. If you like horror, try science fiction. Just please don’t ever ask me to read any more “classic literature”. My life is too short to be bored to tears. LOL
I’m still reading The Synthesis from the Powerless series by Jason Letts. I want to finish it but I’m having trouble finding the time to pick up and read stuff.
Want to read Starfane!! And I still need to read the second in Imogen Rose’s Portal Chronicles, Equilibrium, and the third, Quantum, is due out in mid-Nov. And I was supposed to beta Glimmer, the second in Stacey Benefiel’s Zellie Wells series, but I didn’t get to it and I really want to read it. And I want to read My Blood Approves. And Clockwork Angel, Catching Fire and Mockingjay…
Whine whine whine.
While I was on the road, I was kept awake on audio by the third Maximum Ride book (good; I like that stuff) and I’m maybe halfway through Shiver. I like stuff about the story, it just took me a while to get into it because it’s not the kind of voice I prefer.
We do need to read the Blood Lust books again before Save My Soul comes out. :adds to virtual pile:
So many books…so little time. I like the Maximum Ride books. Right now, I’m trying to read as many indies as I can. And write. And edit Jon’s book. And get started on my eggshell Christmas ornaments for my Etsy store….
I’m REALLY nervous about you reading Starfane. I thought it was pretty good until I got a super bad review on it. 😦 And you’re such a good writer that I’m in awe of you. LOL. My beta readers liked it, but most are readers, not fellow authors. Except Jon.
Are you like me in that you can’t just drive because your mind has to constantly be doing something? So audio books fill that need? I love audio books.
I can’t wait until Save My Soul comes out. I read it several years ago in its early form and I loved it then. After all the tweaking Zoe’s doing, it has to be super awesome now.
Aw, you’re sweet! That is such a step up from “you’re so messed up I’m in awe that you can manage to dress yourself.” Yay!
“I thought it was pretty good until I got a super bad review on it.”
“A” super bad review? Dude, perspective. Sersly. And don’t be nervous, I’m only mean to Kait (because she likes it).
My daughter is one of those crazy-talkative kids, so when we travel, we go at night so that she sleeps most of the time. I always take the middle of the night shift since I’m a lousy sleeper anyway, so the audiobooks keep me company and give me something to be interested in so I don’t get bored and fall asleep. I also listen to them when I do dishes sometimes, because that’s also unforgivably boring. I ❤ the library!
It would be so cool to meet you and Kait someday. 🙂
Thanks for reading Blood Lust again. Several readers have commented that they like them separately, but together they’re better.
I’m excited to read them together. One story will just flow into another one and I can just keep reading. 🙂
Do you even live that far from me? I’m in the Knoxville area. We should get together.
I’m about 1 1/2 to 2 hours from you.
Well we could pick a spot in the middle sometime or decide who’s making the whole drive first. You can email me if you want. susanbischoff at gmail dot com.
Thanks for mentioning me again. I know what you mean by busy; I hate to think what it will be like when I’m working again. You know how many different things I read and I agree; if you read one style you miss a lot. I just hope you find Memphis Connection as interesting as The Last Cabbandeum. I get the idea I’m going to be like a lot of bands; the first album gets lost in the craziness of getting started and then later it gets re-discovered and sells better. I hope that happens with The Last Cabbandeum.
Look forward to the next story from you and getting Zoe’s books.
Peace,
Jon
