It’s been so long since I’ve posted! I’ve also neglected my sponsor duties the last week or so. I’ve just been VERY sick. I’ve had a cough for about two months, with lots of congestion, and at times, it’s been really bad. I coughed so much I threw up once. Yeah, I know, overshare. Honestly, I haven’t been this sick for this long in forever. Then, I developed pleurisy, possibly from the first (and ongoing) illness. It’s where the lining around the lungs gets inflamed, and it feels like someone stuck a sword into my side. So…I’ve been pretty miserable.
Okay, enough whining. I’m crazy busy right now, partly because I got behind while I was at the lowest point in my malady. I have a lot going on right now, and I’m just trying to prioritize. So I’m not writing at the moment; not until I get the other stuff done. I’ll get back to it soon.
So, no writing, no exercising, no eating right, no spiritual growth. But, that’s going to change. Now that I’m not lying around feeling sorry for myself, I’ve got work to do in all aspects of my life. NO MORE WHINING! LOL
How are the rest of you doing?
So sorry you’ve been sick. Good to see you’re improving and ready for Spring and a burst of energy to tackle those goals. Welcome back.
Thanks, Beth! I am SO ready for spring!
Was worried about you! Glad you’re on the mend.
Thanks, John. I know I haven’t commented on your blog lately. Hopefully, that will change soon.
I figured you had gotten really busy or something. So sorry to hear you were that ill. It sounds AWFUL. It’s great to know you are the mend. Just make sure you don’t overdo it. You were missed! Welcome back!!
Thanks, Mae! I miss interacting on your blog. I hope to be back soon!
I hope you’ll be on the mend very soon. Feel better.
Thanks, Emma!
My husband will cough so badly he’ll throw up, and he isn’t even sick when he does it. Before that happened, I never heard of it happening.
Did this all start as a bad head cold or what? This is just horrible. š¦ I hope you get better soon. I don’t know if you’re aware of Keifer, a drink in the dairy section that contains a good dose of probiotics, but when I drink 8 ounces a day while sick and drink a glass of orange juice, I get better much faster than if I don’t take it. Not sure if this will help. It might not, but I figure there’s no harm in passing it along.
The boring details? I started coughing. The doc gave me some medicine, including antibiotics. As SOON as I finished the antibiotics, I got a sore throat. I kept coughing. When I started having severe pains in my side, I went back to the doctor. He tested for heart attack, pneumonia, who knows what else. He determined I had pleurisy. He said it would take a LONG time to get over that. So I’m on pain meds, which are also anti-inflammatory. I’m STILL coughing, and it’s been almost two months. My pain is a little better, but still there.
I’ve never heard of Keifer. There’s definitely no harm in trying. Except I can’t have the orange juice because of the high sugar content. But I can take Vitamin C.
Btw, your book will be ready on time. š
I would never have expected a cough to turn into something so painful. I took a look at what it is online to get a better understanding of it. Does he think this is a result of a bacterial infection? The Keifer might not help, but it can’t hurt. It boosts the body’s immune system by healing the gut. I’m not sure if that can translate to any help with the lung. Maybe not, but it could help with your health in other ways since it helps to clean the colon.
Is this thing serious? It sounds terrible.
He did give me antibiotics. it was my second round since he gave me some when I first started coughing so much. These were stronger than the first ones. From what I understand, it can be caused by viral or bacterial infections. I think he was just covering all bases with the antibiotics since I was so sick. I guess it could be serious without treatment since it’s inflammation in the body. I’m feeling much better, so I think the anti-inflammatory medicine is working. He said it would take quite a while to get over, so I’m not surprised I still have pain. At least it doesn’t hurt to breathe anymore. Mostly now it’s when I move certain ways.
I hope it goes away sooner rather than later. From what I read, it sounds like a horrible thing to go through. š¦ I’ll be praying for you.
Glad you’re feeling better. Just in time for Easter, enjoy.
Thanks, Chris. Easter will be great this year. We get to spend the day with my son, his wife, and my six-month-old granddaughter. And all my daughter-in-law’s family!
Feel better soon and take care of yourself!!!
Thanks, Juli! I think I’m on the mend.
