I’ve been so late on so many things lately. Ugh. So here are my goals.
1) Write on my sequel to Soul of a Vampire at least 15 minutes a day, five days a week. I want to do more than that, but I’ve been tied up with a lot of line editing for clients, and that’s more profitable right now than writing. But I NEED to write, too.
2) Publish a blog post at least once in addition to my ROW80 post. That’s three times a week total.
3) Exercise at least five days a week. (Not directly related to writing, but part of life and more related than you might think.)
I’m taking baby steps again, so I’m only listing these three for right now. I hope I can get my life in order (I HAVE to stop procrastinating!) so that I can set some more challenging goals at the beginning of 2016.
Better late than never, as the old saying goes. Who knows what our muses would be up to. Could be moonlighting during slow steady journey of ROW80.
happy writing.
You’re right, who knows what’s going on with the muses. 🙂 Thanks!
I do hope you can find more time to give to your own creative gift. I find when I exercise I seem to garner ideas for the writing. However, my exercise is walking the dog!! I really must restart my two blogs, I have stopped as we are house moving and it has taken five teeth gritting months so far.
However, you post was inspiring. Thank you.
I’m glad you found something helpful in my post. I’ve really spread myself too thin the last six months or so. A lot of it is church stuff, and that’s stuff I feel I need to be doing. I do see ways I waste time, though, and I procrastinate. I think if I get a little more organized, I can do better. 🙂
I think when we set too many goals for ourselves it becomes overwhelming, so baby steps makes more sense.
I need to write more on my WIP too. And do a few blog posts. And exercise (I actually started that one again this morning). I’ll be cheering you on, Lauralynn, and maybe in the process meet a few of my goals along the way, too 🙂
You definitely need to be writing more, Mae. Because I want to read more! 🙂
Baby steps just make more sense right now until I get things organized. I have junk sitting all over my living room, and my husband is going nuts. He doesn’t say much, but I get these looks. LOL.
Let’s do this!
Sounds like a plan! 😀
And I know the look, LOL!
Definitely take baby steps. It’s too easy to get overwhelmed, and since I’m one of the authors you’re helping, I know how much work has been dumped on you. I hope you’re able to get your goals met. If I’m ever putting much on your plate, let me know.
I love working with you, Ruth, and you never put too much on me. 🙂 I’m glad to have the business!
I think if I can get my house in better order, I’ll be more productive. For some reason, when the house gets junky looking, I feel bad and can’t think as well. Plus, if I get back on the exercise, that’ll help with the thinking.
I’m the same way. When the house is in chaos, it’s hard to get my mind on board with what I need to do. 🙂 I’ve been slacking on my exercising. That’s too easy to put off.
Good goals. I am the queen of procrastination.
I’m trying to go from queen to princess. LOL
I can relate to the baby steps. Here is to both of us having a successful round!
Good luck to you, too, Morgan!
HUGE baby steps!!! Almost toddler sized!!!! 😉 You can do this! (Schedule a bit of fun in there as well. You can’t get anything out of an empty cup!!!) Wishing you well and lots of hugs. 🙂
Thanks for your support, Juli! And I will make time for fun, I promise.
Good luck on your writing, and your exercising. I haven’t done much exercising as of late (that actually goes back a lot further than you might think) and I can come up with a volume of excuses, but I do seem to be losing some weight since we moved from NY to Missouri, so that’s a thing. 🙂
On top of everything else I need to do, I want to add freelancing to that list. And signed up for a service that people go to requesting specific help. I just don’t have the confidence in myself to do it. Yipes!
Thanks! Now would be a good time to start that exercising back. If you sit and write, you need some physical activity.
Good luck on the freelancing. Have confidence and just do it! 🙂
I’m pretty sure I’m actually already getting a lot of activity, it’s uphill both ways in and out of most places! But yes, I need to find a way to start fitting in intentional activity in my routine. Once the job is solid, I’ll go from there 🙂
