This wasn’t the best week until yesterday when I kicked butt. π I wrote 2379 words on my WIP under my other pen name (for an anthology). I had a sudden epiphany concerning the plot. I realized the why of the conflict between the hero and shero, so I was fired up. Now you might not think 2379 words is a lot in one sitting, but it is for me. I might have gotten more in, but I started getting antsy about the time because I knew I had to go to a funeral later. (Not anyone close.) That’s why I like to write when I know I have nothing else going on later in the day.
I’m getting ready to plot the second novella in my new mystery series under my other pen name. A co-worker suggested a great murder weapon that would leave no clues, so that’s going to make it more interesting. π
I’m going to try to work on three different WIPs at a time this round, so that’s totally different for me. I don’t know if I can pull it off, but we’ll see. The anthology story will be my first priority, but I want to work on the other two from time to time, maybe just a few words at a time. I love a challenge, and this will definitely be one!
Over 2k in one sitting is fantastic! I always do a serious happy dance when that happens.
Thanks, Kait! It’s a lot for me, and Saturday seems to be the only day I can achieve that. I write so much better early in the day. You know, when I’m usually at the day job. π¦
Wow – great going. I have just finished 3 WIP and one new. Am now recovering and sleeping!!! So I know the feeling – well done.
Thanks, Katy. I’m trying so hard to be more productive. The day job just wears me out. But I’m going to try.
Sounds like you made some great progress. Breaking 2000 words in one sitting is always amazing to me. Good luck from a ROW80 blog hoping friend.
Thank you, Michelle! Good luck to you, too!
Is the pen name you mention in the first paragraph the same as in the second?
Yes, it’s the same pen name in both paragraphs. I’m also working on something under Lauralynn, but the first novella in the mystery series is doing better than all my Lauralynn stuff put together right now. So I’m giving the other name first priority for awhile.
I think anything over 2000 is great.
I am curious about this murder weapon that leaves no clues. I’ll have to read the story to find out what that is. π
Thanks, Ruth! You can wait on the story, or if your curiosity overwhelms you, you can ask me privately. Up to you. I know you won’t steal the idea. LOL. It’s probably been done before, but since I haven’t read it, surely not often.
Intrigued about the murder weapon:) think that word count in one sitting was very good 0 well done – and good luck on the three WIP at once – keep smiling:)
Thanks, Alberta!
Over 2K in one sitting is great. I regularly hit 1,500, but 2K is a rarity for me. Congrats!
I’d love to know more about your mystery books. I love a good mystery. Are you willing to share your pen name with us? π
Have a great week, Lauralynn!
Thanks, Denise! I’ll share it here. It’s not that I don’t want my Lauralynn friends to know about my other pen name. It’s actually the other way around. There are people I’ll share the other pen name with that I don’t want to know about Lauralynn. It has to do with church and the paranormal stuff I write under Lauralynn. Here’s the link to the website to my other name.

I can think of a weapon that would be extremely hard to trace (and it’s not a lef of lamb)…
Hooray for epiphanies! Hooray for success! Hooray for optimism!
And a big hooray for YOU!
Thank you, Shan!
