I’m sick again. This is the second time this year. I wish all this stuff going around would stop! I hope it’s not the flu. Anyway, I’ve been fairly productive the last two days. I have a word quota of 12,500 per month, which is 150,000 for the year. I think that’s pretty reasonable for someone with a full time job. I’m behind for February, partly because I was working on proofreading a couple of things. But my daily quota is fairly low, so I think I can catch up. I was a little over my January quota, so I think I’m mostly on track for the year. Having that yearly word count goal will make me have to be working on something almost all the time. I need to do that to be productive. The more books I publish a year, the better off I am, financially. I SO want to write full time.

Sorry to hear you’re sick. š¦ I hope you get better soon.
I notice with my word count goals, they fluctuate from month to month. Some months are easier than others. So I can see catching one one month and falling a bit behind in another. As long as the total for the year ends up being on track, then all is good.
Thanks, I hope I don’t get as sick as I did last month!
Some people have much higher yearly goals than 150,000, but I think that’s reasonable for me. I’m going to try to catch up for February, but if I don’t, I’ll make it up in March. I’m still working on the mystery.
One thing that sets February off is how short it is. It makes it harder to reach writing goals.
Working full-time and being able to write 150,000 words is good, in my opinion.
Good for you!
I would love to have that goal, but my goals focus on equal parts writing and theatre. I love both too much to give either up, but I making better work of writing, editing, and submitting.
It’s about balance. You find what you want to do and you go for it! Every person is different and I love to see what my writing friends are up to. Huzzah to you!! š
We all have to find our own balance. I have to divide my time between writing and my full time job. But we should set some reasonable goals for ourselves so we have something to shoot for.
