I almost didn’t post since I really have nothing to report. I took some time off from my book like I said I was going to, but I took one more day than I’d planned. Yesterday, hubby had a skin cancer taken off his forehead, and they had to go deep, so he’s in a lot of pain. So I watched TV and a movie with him last night and made it all about him. I figured that was more important than writing at the time. Tonight is church night, so I’ll get back to it tomorrow and see if my motivation is back.
Ouch, poor hubby. 😦
Here’s hoping you find your motivation waiting for you tomorrow!
Yeah, he’s such a sweetie, I hate to see him in pain. 😦
I hope I’ll be ready to get back to it. If not, I’m going on to something else.
Oh man, your poor husband. He’s been through one horrible thing after another. 😦 I said a prayer for you two. I hope this is it and he won’t have any more things go wrong.
I know! And he stays so calm about everything. He complains about hurting, but he doesn’t freak out over so much illness. Of course, he’s had to be out of work two days (and possibly three), so that puts us behind again financially. It’s a good thing we are both calm about most things, and we both have a lot of faith. Thank you so much for your prayer!
Family definitely comes first! Hope your hubby’s feeling better soon!
Family always comes first. 🙂 I think he’s feeling a little better today. He’s going to try to work tonight.
I’ve seen several articles lately on how taking time to rest can be great for your creative brain & your productivity. I’ve been resting a bit lately, too, and as a result my Muse has rewarded me with a few random ideas. Best of luck to you in the next week!
Things started to pick up yesterday, so I think the rest has helped.
Yeah, there are definitely things a LOT more important than writerly stuff, and that classifies as one of them. I wish you and your husband the best and a speedy recovery for both of you, too, even if I’m a little late in saying so.
Things are looking up on all fronts, writing and otherwise. Hubby went back to work Thursday night and did okay.
~Sending some healing energies your way~ Rest is good! Hope you have a better week!
Thanks, Cindy!
Wishing your husband a speedy recovery. Sometimes we need to take time off from writing and focus on something else. I say give yourself permission and don’t feel any guilt about it.
Thank you, Denise. You’re right, sometimes we have to take that time off.
It was the best course to spend the time with him. I’m sure he was grateful. I hope he mends quickly. It sounds like a very painful thing.
The wound still looks awful, but he’s feeling MUCH better. 🙂
