Yes, I’m a day late. I unplug so much on weekends, especially Sunday, that I sometimes forget it’s check-in day.
My main goal is, basically, to write five hours a week (trying to get about 5,000 words done, figuring on 1000 words per hour.). I stated it as five days, one hour each day, but I allow myself to make that up as long as I get five hours in for the week. I ended up only working, I think, four days, for a total of about four hours. But I ended up with about 6000 words because I averaged a lot more than 1000 words per hour. So that means I’m still on track to finish this book during this round. I’m at least going to try! 🙂
I almost didn’t check-in yesterday, either. I’ve just been feeling so off lately. But yay 4 hours and more than the projected word count! That’s so fantastic. Keep it up, Lauralynn!
Thanks, L.S.! I’m trying to stay motivated and work when I’m supposed to. We’ve had a huge website project with many glitches here at work, so that just about drains me during the day. I have to really make myself work on my writing when I get home.
Say you were able to do 1500 words a day (your average for the past week). You could finish a lot quicker. Think you could do it? I mean, this is great progress…
I could totally do it if I stay motivated. (A big “if”) I don’t write on Wednesdays or Sundays as a rule, so I’m figuring five days a week. But I could easily finish IF I was able to write 1500 words a day five days a week. MORE than finish since my books tend to be shorter. We shall see!
That is excellent news *go team* I’m thrilled that you’re in line to achieve your goals. We’re here to cheer you on and make sure you reach the target 🙂
Thanks, Melissa! 🙂
Wow, you ROCK the word counts! I fell behind Monday (holiday meant my Accomplice didn’t do his normal errands; I had an emergency dentist appointment; the pain’s wearing me down some – but is being dealt with; and lots of people using internet at the same time – we need to upgrade). And then there was Castle… =)
I know you can do this. I’m hoping to finish my “dangling” WIP by the end of the month – I’ve got 9.5 scenes to go – but it’s “back-burnered until the NaNo book is plotted and my three short stories revised. So it may be waiting until December, but it will be done by the end of the year!
We can do this. Hear us roar (softly, because it still hurts to open my mouth too wide..)
Thanks, Shan! Yes, please roar softly. I hope you get everything all fixed up with the tooth and you’ll soon be pain free!
I’m on the mend, and more likely to be purring happily today! =D
